    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating shaft seal enabling the improvement of dimensional accuracy by making constant the inner diameter dimension of a rubber lip part of a rubber member without affecting the inner diameter dimensional accuracy of the rubber lip part of the rubber member in a free state by the strong or weak of caulking in assembly.
      SOLUTION: This rotating shaft seal comprises a cylindrical outer case 5 having an inner flange part 7 at one end of a fluid storage chamber 3 and the rubber member 8 having a U-shaped cover part 12 covering the inner flange part 7 and rubber lip part 9 extending to a fluid storage chamber 3 side. The outer case 5 is bent to the other end through an intermediate member 13, and an inside cover wall part 10 of the U-shaped cover part 12 is assembled by crimping to be compressed in the thickness direction. At a position near the inner peripheral end 7a of the inner flange part 7, a recessed groove 14 cutting out the flow of rubber compressed by caulking in the inner diameter direction is formed in the inner cover wall part 10.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the deformation of a lip tip under a high pressure by elastically deforming a rubber seal member arranged closer to a fluid housing chamber over a seal element in the axial direction of a rotating shaft according to the increase in pressure of the fluid housing chamber, and pulling the lip tip in the direction separating from the rotating shaft. SOLUTION: When the pressure P of a high-pressure fluid is applied from a fluid housing chamber 33 side to the lip part 13 of a rubber seal member 5, the short cylindrical part 13a of the lip part 13 is elastically deformed so as to fit into the clearance between the rubber seal member 5 and a support metal fitting 12. The lip tip 13b of the lip part 13 is pulled along the inclined receiving surface A of the support metal fitting 12 in the direction separating from the rotating shaft 32 by a moving force Fx in the elastic deformation in the axial direction of the rotating shaft 32. Namely, a tensile force F1 acts on the tip angle part 14 of the lit tip 13b in the direction separating from the rotating shaft 32. Accordingly, the force acting on the rotating shaft 12 is reduced by the potion of the tensile force F1, and the contact surface pressure of the lip tip 13b can be reduced to reduce the wear.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the deformation of a lip under a high pressure and to improve durability by holding the inner periphery of a lip tip section with a support metal fixture, providing a reinforcing outer cover metal fixture on the outer periphery, and holding the lip tip section with both metal fixtures in a sandwich shape. SOLUTION: A rubber seal member 5 is constituted of a cylinder cover section 5a, an inner flange outer cover section 5b and a lip section 13, and the lip section 13 is constituted of a short cylinder section 13a parallel with a rotary shaft 32 and a lip tip section 13b shrunk in diameter toward a fluid storage chamber 33 side. A support metal fixture 12 is provided between a first seal element 7 and a seal member 5, the back face of the inner flange outer cover section 5b from the inner periphery of the lip tip section 13b through the inner periphery of the short cylinder section 13a is held by the ring-like support metal fixture 12, and a portion from the outer periphery of the lip tip section 13b to the outer periphery of the short cylinder section 5b is covered with a reinforcing outer cover metal fixture 21. The lip tip section 13b is held by the metal fixtures 12, 21 in a sandwich shape and is prevented from being directly applied with a high pressure, its deformation is reduced, and it can secure a high sealing property.
