    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the deformation of a lip under a high pressure and to improve durability by holding the inner periphery of a lip tip section with a support metal fixture, providing a reinforcing outer cover metal fixture on the outer periphery, and holding the lip tip section with both metal fixtures in a sandwich shape. SOLUTION: A rubber seal member 5 is constituted of a cylinder cover section 5a, an inner flange outer cover section 5b and a lip section 13, and the lip section 13 is constituted of a short cylinder section 13a parallel with a rotary shaft 32 and a lip tip section 13b shrunk in diameter toward a fluid storage chamber 33 side. A support metal fixture 12 is provided between a first seal element 7 and a seal member 5, the back face of the inner flange outer cover section 5b from the inner periphery of the lip tip section 13b through the inner periphery of the short cylinder section 13a is held by the ring-like support metal fixture 12, and a portion from the outer periphery of the lip tip section 13b to the outer periphery of the short cylinder section 5b is covered with a reinforcing outer cover metal fixture 21. The lip tip section 13b is held by the metal fixtures 12, 21 in a sandwich shape and is prevented from being directly applied with a high pressure, its deformation is reduced, and it can secure a high sealing property.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deformation of a lip tip under a high pressure by minutely separating the tip angle part of a rubber lip tip arranged closer to a fluid housing chamber over a seal element and slid on a rotating shaft from a rotating shaft in a non-pressurized state, and bringing it into contact with the rotating shaft in a pressurized state. SOLUTION: In the non-pressurized state of a fluid housing chamber 33, the tip angle part 14 of a lip tip 13b in a rubber lip 13 is retained in a linear contact state or minutely separated state with no fastening margin to the circumferential surface of a rotating shaft 32. In the pressurized state of the fluid housing chamber 33, a self-sealing force F1 to the circumferential surface of the rotating shaft 32 acts on the tip angle part 14 since the pressure P of a high-pressure fluid acts on the lip part 13, and the tip angle part 14 makes contact with the rotating shaft 32. On the other hand, since no straining force by the rubber elasticity of the lip 13 is generated to the circumferential surface of the rotating shaft 32, the force acting on the rotating shaft 32 of the lip tip 13b is reduced by the portion of the straining force. Accordingly, the contact surface pressure of the lip tip 13b can be reduced to reduce the wear.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exercise sufficient sealing performance in any rotational directions by providing a helical groove of both right and left winding directions in the contact surface side of a seal lip part with a rotary shaft in a rotary shaft seal provided with a seal element having a seal lip part surface contacted with the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft. SOLUTION: A rotary shaft seal 1 fitted between a housing 2 and a rotary shaft 3 and slide-contacted with the outer peripheral surface 3a of the rotary shaft 3 includes a first seal element 4 held by a first holding metal fitting 6 and a second seal element 5 held between a second holding metal fitting 7 and the first seal element 4. Helical grooves 52 and 53 are formed in the rotary shaft contact surface 51a of a seal lip part 51 surface-contacted by a specified width with the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft 3 formed in the second seal element 5 in both right and left winding directions. Thus, even if the rotary shaft 3 is rotated in any directions, a pumping action occurs in a returning/sending direction and sufficient sealing performance is provided for the rotations of both left and right directions.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a seal for rotation, with which sealing performance is ensured even when a shaft is in a stationary state, and which can be manufactured at low cost. CONSTITUTION:A seal 1 for rotation is interposed between a housing 2 and a rotation shaft member 3, and a first seal element 11 and a second seal element 9 having grooved seal rip parts 13, 14 slidably connected to an outer peripheral surface 4 of the rotation shaft member 3 are provided on the side of a fluid storage chamber 5 and on a low pressure side 7. An elastic seal member 12 is also provided closer to the fluid storage chamber 5 than to the first seal element 11. The seal member 12 is provided with an outer periphery abutting piece part 20 closely connected to an inner surface 2a of the housing 2, an element pressure contact piece part 18 adhered to an end surface 27 in the side of the fluid storage chamber of the first seal element 11, and a seal rip part 17 slidably connected to the outer peripheral surface 4 of the rotation shaft member 3 almost in a line-contact status, in an integrated form.
