    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface reforming method for an aluminum casting material, which method can eliminate internal defects of the aluminum casting material or to provide a method for repairing a poor appearance of the aluminum casting material, which method can repair the poor appearance caused on the surface of the aluminum casting material.
      SOLUTION: A surface reforming apparatus 1 for carrying out the surface reforming method for the aluminum casting material is provided with a probe portion 10, and a shoulder portion 20 having a circular cylindrical shape respectively. The prove portion 10 is made of an aluminum material, and is movably inserted into a through-hole 20a formed along the axis of the shoulder portion 20. In the surface reforming method for the aluminum casting material, the probe portion 10 protrudes from one end 20A of the shoulder portion 20 in the axial direction. The probe portion 10 is brought into contact with the surface of the aluminum casting material 2 while turning at a high rotational speed, and is pressed against the aluminum casting material 2 in the axial direction.

      SOLUTION: The automobile structure body includes a structure member 2 made of the aluminum alloy having a box shape having at least one opened surface and having a flange 2b on an opening side end edge; and a cover 3 for covering a whole or a part of the opening 2a of the structure member 2. The cover 3 is made of a zinc steel plate and has an extension part 3a extended to an outer side of the flange 2b when the whole or the part of the opening 2a of the structure member 2 is covered. The structure member 2 and the cover 3 are friction/stirring-joined by pushing-in and moving a friction/stirring probe 4b from the flange 2b side of the structure member 2.
