    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make 4 cycle engine compact and improve its performance by nearly equalize the length of exhaust pipes connected to the exhaust ports of respective cylinders of a 4 cycle engine and also forming a common exhaust port by gathering the final end parts of respective exhaust pipes gradually and molding integrally by casting entire exhaust pipes. SOLUTION: 4 cylinder engine 6 is placed vertically, its crankshaft 28 is positioned in the center of a hull width and also entire cylinders 25 are slanted to the right side of the hull and an intake device 10 is arranged in the left side of the hull. Exhaust pipes 71-74 are arranged in a space S formed in the right side of the engine 6. In this case, the length of respective exhaust pipes 71-74 is equalized by bending and extending the exhaust pipes 71-74 in parallel with the engine 6 to the direction of an exhaust port part 75, after once extending to the opposite direction of the exhaust port part 75 from an exhaust port 23 corresponding to each. A common exhaust port part 75 is made by gathering the final end parts of respective exhaust pipes 71-74 gradually and entire exhaust pipes 71-74 are molded by casting integrally.

    • PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the load balancer of a balance shaft, by arranging a balancer driven gear and a water pump which are attached together to one end of a balancer shaft, so that they are opposed to each other inside and outside of a bearing wall. CONSTITUTION:A crankshaft B is supported at two positions in its axially intermediate section by an intermediate bearing wall 8 and at its both ends by outside bearing wals 6, and it secured on its end part (b) with a balancer drive gear 22 on the inside thereof. Further, a balancer driven gear 24 driven by the gear 22 is disposed at one end of a balancer shaft A supported between the right and left bearing wall 6. Meanwhile, a water pump 43 is secured to the right outside part of the balancer shaft A with the bearing wall 6 intervening between the driven gear 24 and the water pump 43. With this arrangement the load balance of the balancer shaft A may be made satisfactory to enhance its balancing function. A crank casing 2 may also serve as the inner casing of the water pump 43, and it is possible to prevent internal noise from radiating to the outside.
