CONSTITUTION:The outside tube 1 is lapped over the inside tube 2 to make a tube stock 3, the outside tube 1 is heated by a heat circulating device 4 and as water is showered from cooling water circulating devices 5 set before and behind the heat circulating device 4 to cool the tube stock, the devices are moved in the axial direction of the tube stock 3 and at the same time the tube stock 3 is turned. The tube 1 is going to be expanded in diameter by heating, but since cooling operation is performed before and behind the heating device, diametral expansion is restrained and press-bending moment F is operat ed to press the side of the inside tube 2. Since this heating operation is performed on the whole tube, the outside tube 1 is reduced in diameter to make a double tube 6. When the inside tube 2 is heated and cooled from the inside of the inside tube 2, the inside tube 2 is expanded in diameter to make a double tube 6 based on the same principle.

    • PURPOSE:To stack inner and outer pipes easily and relatively, and to obtain the self-locking double pipe through the shrinkage of a diameter by naturally cooling the outer pipe by a method wherein the outer pipe is diameter-increased through heating, diameter-shrunk, yield-deformed and diameter-increased through the release of pipe shrinking force in a predetermined diameter. CONSTITUTION:The inside of the inner pipe 29 is filled with cooling water through a piping 24 to shrink its diameter. On the other hand, the inside of a pressure drum 11 is filled with hot water through a heater 16 from a water source 15, and the outer pipe 30 is heated to increase its diameter. A high pressure hydraulic cylinder 18 is actuated, and the outer pipe 30 is shrunk and plastically deformed. The outer pipe is subject to axial force through a sliding stopper 28 through the operation of an air cylinder 27, and also shrunk in the axial direction. After prescribed pipe shrinkage, heating water is discharged from the pressure drum to release pipe shrinking force, and the cooling water in the inner pipe 29 is also discharged. Accordingly, the outer pipe 30 is naturally cooled and shrunk, the inner pipe 29 is temperature-raised up to a natural temperature and diameter-increased, and the self-locking double pipe is obtained.
