On the other hand, water as pipe expanding liquid is supplied through a water feed path 8 provided to the plate 6' and is filled in the pipe 2. thence, compressive force is applied by the plates 6, 6' in the axial direction of the pipe 2, and circumferential pipe expanding force P lower in set amt. than axial compressive force T is applied successively. Then, the circumferential direction is yielded early by the axial compressive force and abuts on the pipe 1, thereby expanding the pipe integrally to a prescribed diameter. When the pressure is reduced after this, both inside and outside pipes reduce diameters elastically. At this time, the elastic return difference of the pipes 2, 1 is increased by the plastic deformation of the pipe 2, whereby a sufficient interference is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the double pipe which has firm integration function and has no distortions or the like to be obtained by mechanically pressure-welding inside and outside pipes then forming the metal bond through radiation beam welding partially along the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:An inside pipe 2 of stainless steel or the like and an outside pipe 3 of pressure-resistant steel or the like are pressure-welded at the faying parts 4. Beams are radiated to this double pipe 1 from the outside of the outside pipe 3 by means of electron beam welding or laser beam welding at the controlled welding width and depth of penetration to perform welding partially. At this time, the weld beads 5 melt so as to reach the faying parts 4 of the inside and outside pipes 2, 3 and further sufficiently enter the inside of the thickness of the inside pipe 3, to enable the metal bonding to be effected locally and continuously. This method makes it possible to accomplish firm bonding without giving any large welding strain to the double pipe and prevent deviation and local buckling.

    • PURPOSE:To stack inner and outer pipes easily and relatively, and to obtain the self-locking double pipe through the shrinkage of a diameter by naturally cooling the outer pipe by a method wherein the outer pipe is diameter-increased through heating, diameter-shrunk, yield-deformed and diameter-increased through the release of pipe shrinking force in a predetermined diameter. CONSTITUTION:The inside of the inner pipe 29 is filled with cooling water through a piping 24 to shrink its diameter. On the other hand, the inside of a pressure drum 11 is filled with hot water through a heater 16 from a water source 15, and the outer pipe 30 is heated to increase its diameter. A high pressure hydraulic cylinder 18 is actuated, and the outer pipe 30 is shrunk and plastically deformed. The outer pipe is subject to axial force through a sliding stopper 28 through the operation of an air cylinder 27, and also shrunk in the axial direction. After prescribed pipe shrinkage, heating water is discharged from the pressure drum to release pipe shrinking force, and the cooling water in the inner pipe 29 is also discharged. Accordingly, the outer pipe 30 is naturally cooled and shrunk, the inner pipe 29 is temperature-raised up to a natural temperature and diameter-increased, and the self-locking double pipe is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent generation of stress corrosion cracks in the duplicate pipe welding joint part, by generating compression residual stress in the inside pipe welding joint part having welding tensile residual stress after extending the joint part of the duplicate pipe beyond the elastic limit locally. CONSTITUTION:In the processing for welding joint part 4 of duplicate pipes 3 and 3 where austenite-system stainless steel pipe 1 is the inside pipe and carbon steel pipe 2 is the outside pipe, pipe extending stress is applied to set ring 6, which is inserted from aperture part 5 of a short pipe length and is set to welding part 4, rubber tube 8, and so on through the hydraulic cylinder, tube 7, and so on to cause pipe extending action to act upon inside pipe 1 and outside pipe 2, and after pipe extending beyond the elastic limit, compression residual stress is caused to generate in welding joint part 4 of inside pipe 1 having welding tensile residual stress on a basis of the difference of breakdown stress of pipes. Thus, stress corrosion cracks are prevented from being generated.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of stress corrosion cracking in the welded joint parts of pipes by heating the surfaces thereof on the side not in contact with fluid quickly from an ordinary temp. and changing the diameter of the parts by liquid pressure before the other surface side heats up and generating residual compressive stresses after restoration of the ordinary temp. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve piston 3 is inserted into a pipe 1 connected by a welded joint 2, and a solenoid valve 7 is opened via a controller 6 to eject the steam of a boiler 8 through the nozzles 10 of steam heaters 5, whereby the entire circumference of the joint part 2 is quickly heated. The outside surface 1'' side of the part 2 is quickly heated and before the inside surface 1' side is heated from an ordinary temp., that is, while it has residual tensile stresses, the sealing damper rings 12, 12 of flange parts 4, 4 are brought into press contact with the inside surface 1' by the high pressure water from a high pressure water pump 13, whereby said surface is sealed. Liquid pressure is applied between the parts 4 and 4 through a passage 16 by a high pressure water pump 15 to expand the pipe and to yield the inside surface 1' side, whereby the pipe is elastically deformed. After restoration of the ordinary temp., residual compressive stresses are formed on the inside surface 1' side and residual tensile stresses on the outside surface 1'' side.
