摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently retrieve and display a target image by retrieving images similar to the object image to be retrieved from a database having a directory structure. SOLUTION: A personal computer 10 and a film scanner 30 are connected to a server 20 with large storage capacity through a network N and the image database is structured on the server 20. To retrieve a specific image from the database, multiple images, e.g. images in the image database are statistically classified into the determined number of clusters and images representing the respective clusters are displayed on the screen on the personal computer 10. The relative distances in feature quantity between an image selected out of them and other images are found to calculate similarities. The similarities are set larger and larger as the distances are shorter and shorter, and an image which is registered more recently is retrieved with higher priority. Thumbnail images are displayed in the decreasing order of the similarities. Consequently, the user can obtain a desirable image faster.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rolled photographic film having a new width capable of realizing the improvement of easiness in handling, the reduction of leakage light and the increase of exposure frames by setting the film width within a specified range and providing perforation. SOLUTION: The film width is set between 38.5 mm and 54 mm, desirably, 46.2±1.5 mm. An image frame is not regulated particularly but it is desirable to set the length of the image frame to 41.5±1 mm and the width thereof to 56.0±1.5 mm considering the easiness in handling at a laboratory and the aspect ratio of the image frame. This size is obtained by replacing the relation between the length and the width of 645 size popular as the image frame size of 120 type or 220 type rolled photographic film, so that printing can be performed with the mask of 645 size used till now concerning the processing at the laboratory. It is good to set the perforation 102 to two or less per one frame but it is desirable to set it to one. It does not matter whatever position the perforation 102 exists at regardless of relative relation to a frame 101 but it is desirable to set the perforation 102 between the frames 101 and 101.

Then the image processing part 30 finds a marginal dimming correction expression from tag information. Then the image processing part 30 performs a gradation conversion with respect to all pixels, with its results being stored in the frame memory 33. Then the image processing part 30 reads image data out of the frame memory 33 and performs marginal dimming correction based upon a specified expression. Consequently, image data having marginal dimming corrected are obtained.

At this time, B is shifted from G, and G is shifted from R to the central direction of the picture as the direction of color slip. The picture processing part 30 reads the color slip value written in the tag area, and operates color correction based on the level of magnification of the G and B while judging that any chromatic slip is absent in R.
