    • PURPOSE:To suppress splashing of powdery materials when the materials are supplied by providing a hopper in a movable manner for supplying a sample from above into a sample container, and forming a throttle at an end of a chute in the lower part of the hopper. CONSTITUTION:A lift cylinder 31 for a holding stand 33 is provided at one end of a fixed stage 21. The holding stand 33 is moved by a driving motor 32 provided in the upper part of a rod of the cylinder 31. An inclining hopper 35a on the stand 33 is driven by an inclining motor 34. Moreover, an inclining hopper 35 having a sample feeding chute 36 is provided below the inclining hopper 35a. A throttle part 37 is formed at a front end of the chute 36. When the rod of the cylinder 31 is contracted to move the lower end of the throttle part 37 down to a position where the throttle part slightly enters an opening of a crucible 2, the cylinder is automatically stopped. At this position, the powdery material in the hopper 35a is supplied into the crucible 2 through the hopper 35 and throttle part 37. Therefore, the powdery material can be supplied without splashing although an ascending air current is generated when an electric furnace 17 is heated.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the transmittance of a magnetic force and to facilitate the brazing of a target by thinning the loading surface of a target supporting part freely detachably fixed in a magnet housing and providing a meandering cooling water passage on the rear with a bottom plate. CONSTITUTION:A target 2 is brazed to the target supporting part 3 and fixed to the rotatable housing 6 for a magnet 5, and a magnetic field is applied to the target 2. In this backing device 1 for the target 2 of this sputtering method, the supporting part 3 is formed by a backing plate 12 provided with a loading surface 11 and the peripheral part 15 thicker than the plate. The target 2 is brazed to the thin loading surface 11 and freely detachably fixed to the cylindrical peripheral wall 8 of the housing 6 at the peripheral part 15 by a bolt 4. The meandering cooling water passage 14 communicating with a water supply passage 20 and a water discharge passage (not shown in the figure) is formed on the rear of the supporting part 3, and the bottom plate 13 is brazed, closely attached and fixed. As a result, the target 2 is easily brazed, the transmittance of the magnetic field is enhanced, and cooling is efficiently carried out.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance workability at the time of operation and to certainly suppress the getting-out of an insert bearing member, by forming the engaging groove, which is externally brought into contact with the end surface of the insert bearing member at the mount position thereof, to the inner peripheral edge of an outside prosthetic member on the recessed part opened side thereof and engaging a snap ring with said engaging groove. CONSTITUTION:An engaging groove 13 having a semicircular cross-section is carved in the inner peripheral edge of an outside prosthetic member 5 on the recessed part opened side thereof in the peripheral direction at the position externally brought into contact with the end surface of the skirt part 6b of an insert bearing member 6. A snap ring 11 is engaged with the engaging groove 13. The snap ring 11 has a circular cross-section and grasping parts 12a bent to the inside are formed to both end parts thereof. The insert bearing member 6 is brought into contact with the snap ring 11 over the almost entire periphery of the end surface of the skirt part 6b in its engaging state and the getting-out from the outside prosthetic member 5 is suppressed. Therefore, at the suppressed part, eccentric load is prevented from acting on a part of the end surface of the skirt part 6b and the certain connection of both of them can be held.
