    • PURPOSE:To improve quality by applying weld overlay of anticorrosive metals on surfaces which are to become inner surface of a valve box having a required shape formed by bonding a number of components each other. CONSTITUTION:A valve box of a pressure-resistant, anticorrosive valve is manufactured from a number of separate components. Since components of complex shapes to some extent can be manufactured by casting, division of components is made considering mold shrinkage and extent of ease in weld overlay application. As an example, division is made into three components: a valve box main body 10 and two flanged cylinders 11's. The cylinder part 11 is equipped with a part 11a for fitting into a conical hole bored on the side wall of the valve box. The weld overlay of metal-inert gas (MIG) or tungsten-inert gas (TIG) welding is applied to surfaces which are to become inner surfaces of the valve box made up by bonding separate components manufactured by casting or forging.

    • PURPOSE:To perform partial penetration welding such as crater treatment without generating welding defects by performing welding while oscillating an electron beam at different frequencies in the direction intersecting orthogonally with the advancing direction for welding and in the direction parallel therewith. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam welding performs welding by irradiating an electron beam 4 to materials 1 to be welded placed on a conveying table 3 in a vacuum chamber 2 and focusing the beam with a focusing coil 5. The oscillation having the directional component perpendicular to the advancing direction X of a circular shape or the like is applied to the beam 4 by the 1st deflecting coil 6 with such electron beam welding device and the oscillation having the frequency different from the frequency of said oscillation and having the directional component in parallel with the direction X is applied superposedly to said beam by the 2nd deflecting coil 7. Then the inside of the molten pool is vertically and horizontally stirred without confinement of the generated gas therein in the stage of partial penetration welding such as a crater treatment; moreover, the welding phenomenon itself is stabilized and weld defects such as porosity, etc. are effectively prevented. The welding with excellent internal quality is thus accomplished.

    • PURPOSE:To perform fastening and welding easily and exactly even if the welding of both materials to be welded is infeasible by fastening one material to be welded and the other material to be welded by using fastening materials such as screws then applying tuck welding. CONSTITUTION:The other material 2 to be welded is superposed on one material 1 to be welded, and respective fastening hole 3 is communicated respectively concentrically with through-hole 4. Fastening member 5 such as screw is screwed through the hole 4 into the hole 3 to bind both materials 1, 2. In succession, the tuck welding 6 penetrating from the material 2 to the material 1 is applied along a welding line 2b from the direction of the material 2 by, for example, electron beam welding, plasma arc welding or the like. The material 1 and the material 2 are bound to one body by means of the members 5 and both materials are welded in the above-mentioned way; therefore, even if both materials 1, 2 are formed of curved surfaces as shown in the figure, the materials are welded adequately without distortion of the material 2 during welding.

    • PURPOSE:To make possible the accurate welding of long size material to be inexpensively, surely executed, by installing a special welding chamber, constituted of the rotary sealing plate, etc., for vacuuam sealing only the connecting part of the rotating material to be welded, at the electron beam welding. CONSTITUTION:The welding chamber 3, being installed at the middle of the base plate 2, the base plate 2, is constituted of the sealing pacts consisting of flange 6, the hole 5, the rotary sealing plate 8, etc., and the exhaust pipe 24, etc.; and the electron beam welding mechanism 22 is installed on the upper surface of the chamber 3 so as to be freely slidably in the arrowed direction. The pipe materials 11, 12, to be welded are set at the linked support mechanism of above sealing parts and the supports 4, 4, on both sides, so as to butt the parts to be welded, and only this butted portion is sealed tight. The inside of the chamber 3 is evacuated by the vacuum pump 25 through the exhaust pipe 24, and the pipe materials 11, 12, are rotated by a suitable driver; under this condition, the electrom beam welding is executed on the connecting part. Even if the pipe material is one of a long size, any large chamber is unnecessary, so that the installation cost can be reduced, and the welding of high accuracy can be executed.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a product with small weld deformation, having weld zone of metallurgical and mechanical property similar to that of base material, by shaping the material to be welded in such a manner that flat portions are kept on both sides of the groove, and by correcting the shape after welding as in butting of flat plates. CONSTITUTION:Thin wall sheet to be welded is so shaped that flat, long narrow portions 1' are remained at least on both sides of the original sheet 1 in the longitudinal direction. The shape of the section of the original sheet 1 can be selected optionally in accordance with the size of the vacuum chamber, however it is preferable to have a bending radius as large as possible in order to facilitate the treatment in the later process. Flat sheet portions 1' are butted into each other with or without use of a backing, and welded at suitable intervals so that no gap is made. Thereafter, the sheet is electron beam welded by use of restraining tools to produce primary original pipe A, if necessary, with elimination of reinforcement. Then the original pipe A is shaped into a bellow C directly, or through correction to a secondary original pipe B of high roundness.
