    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which is used for automobiles and gives coating films having excellent stain resistance, enabling the easy removal of adhering stain substances and having good abrasion resistance and good scratch resistance.
      SOLUTION: 1. This coating composition for automobiles is characterized by comprising (A) a polyester resin consisting essentially of (a) an aliphatic polybasic acid and/or (b) an alicyclic polyhydric alcohol, (C) a polyisocyanate compound, and (D) a resin having alkoxysilyl groups and/or hydroxy groups and dimethylpolysiloxane side chains. 2. The coating composition for automobiles is characterized by comprising (A) a polyester resin consisting essentially of (a) an aliphatic polybasic acid and/or (b) an alicyclic polyhydric alcohol, (B) an acrylic resin, (C) a polyisocyanate compound, and (D) a resin having alkoxysilyl groups and/or hydroxy groups and dimethylpolysiloxane side chains. 3. The coating composition for automobiles according to Claim 1 or a Claim 2, wherein the resin (D) is an acrylic resin having alkoxysilyl groups and/or hydroxy groups and dimethylpolysiloxane side chains.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a coating NV corresponding to a coating environment and a method for coating through adjusting the viscosity of the water paint to the coating NV.
      SOLUTION: The method for determining the coating NV includes the first step (S11, S12) of determining the value of ΔP which is the difference between a steam pressure of air in a coating environment and a saturated steam pressure at a coating film temperature immediately after coating, the second step (S13) of determining the value of a coating NV difference by substituting the value of ΔP determined in the first step for a relation of the predetermined value of ΔP and the coating NV difference, and the third step (S14) of determining an object coating NV by subtracting the value of the coating NV difference determined in the second step from the normal coating NV. The equation of relation of ΔP and the coating NV is one expressing, in a plurality of coating environments, the relation between the value of the coating NV difference obtained by subtracting the coating NV in a standard environment from the values of the coating NV's of a plurality of coating films obtained by applying the water paint in a normal coating NV and the value of ΔP determined in coating environments corresponding to the respective values of these coating NV differences.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application environment control method and control apparatus for water based paint by which a desired finish of a coating film is attained with small air conditioning energy.
      SOLUTION: The application environment control method includes a first step (S11) for fixing ΔP which is a difference between the water vapor pressure of air in a temperature of the coating film just after the application in a coating booth set to a standard application environment (temperature and humidity) where the coating film of the water based paint exhibits a required finished skin or sagging property and the saturated water vapor pressure, a second step (S12) for determining absolute humidity of the outside air outside of the coating booth, a third step (S13) for fixing target environment by determining the temperature and the humidity to obtain the ΔP and the absolute humidity of the outside air and a forth step (S14-S19) for taking in outside air and after the temperature of the taken-in outside air is controlled to be equal to that of the target environment, supplying the outside air when the environment is different from the standard environment.
