SOLUTION: There are provided an image read means 12 for reading sample image data from a scanning microscope 26, a mapping means 14 for allotting a plurality of small areas as measurement points of a mapping measurement area to a specific range of the sample image data, a designating means 16 for designating one or two or more desired small areas from the plurality of small areas, and a preparatory measuring means 18 for preparatorily measuring the small areas designated by the designating means 16. Whether a position of the mapping measurement area is properly selected or not is judged on the basis of the preparatory measurement result. When the selection for the mapping measurement area is judged to be proper, all the small areas are subjected to mapping measurement.
