    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manifold block for a fuel cell stack which eliminates the need of insulation coating and ensures excellent electric insulation properties for a coolant passage.SOLUTION: A manifold block for a fuel cell stack of this invention is coupled to a fuel cell stack module and has a gas passage and a coolant passage. The manifold block for the fuel cell stack includes a tubular insulation member which is inserted into the inner side of the coolant passage and is placed in close contact with an inner side surface of the coolant passage thereby electrically insulating the inner side surface of the coolant passage; and an insulation cover which is inserted into the inner side of the coolant passage and is placed in close contact with the insulation member thereby fixing and protecting the insulation member.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of bonding a membrane-electrode assembly and a gas diffusion layer in a fuel cell stack, capable of enhancing a bonding force to facilitate the storage for mass production of the fuel cell stack while ensuring the easiness in lamination between a catalyst layer of the membrane-electrode assembly and the gas diffusion layer. SOLUTION: The method includes steps of coating both surfaces of a polymer electrolyte film with a catalyst layer; adhering a sub-gasket to a frame area on each of the surfaces of the polymer electrolyte film; and laminating a gas diffusion layer on the surface of each catalyst layer and further joining the surface of the sub-gasket and a frame portion of the gas diffusion layer which are mutually overlapped together by an adhesion means.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell stack structure in which, with no different conductive coat applied on a portion where cooling surfaces of metal separation plates contact each other, a smooth electric conductivity is assured by way of a contact part of two metal separation plates, resulting in reduction of a manufacturing cost of metal separation plates, for reduced unit cost of a fuel cell stack.SOLUTION: Cooling surfaces which face each other of metal separation plates forming a fuel cell stack by lamination are provided with a film removal part in which a passive film is removed for assuring electrical conductivity. On the contact surfaces formed by two film removal parts, contacting each other, of two metal separation plates adjoining each other, there are formed a contact part that keeps continuous electrical conductivity, because mutual roughs face each other, and contact is made so as to shield contacting to the air, resulting in suppression of formation of the passive film and a non-contact part where the passive film is formed as lapse of time by contact to the air because of no mutual contact.
