    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell stack structure in which, with no different conductive coat applied on a portion where cooling surfaces of metal separation plates contact each other, a smooth electric conductivity is assured by way of a contact part of two metal separation plates, resulting in reduction of a manufacturing cost of metal separation plates, for reduced unit cost of a fuel cell stack.SOLUTION: Cooling surfaces which face each other of metal separation plates forming a fuel cell stack by lamination are provided with a film removal part in which a passive film is removed for assuring electrical conductivity. The film removal part includes many fine roughs formed when the passive film is removed. On the contact surfaces formed by two film removal parts, contacting each other, of two metal separation plates adjoining each other, there are formed a contact part that keeps continuous electrical conductivity, because mutual roughs face each other, and contact is made so as to shield contacting to the air, resulting in suppression of formation of the passive film and a non-contact part where the passive film is formed as lapse of time by contact to the air because of no mutual contact.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal separator for a fuel cell in which an auxiliary flow passage is simply formed in the main flow passage, and in which a flooding phenomenon resulting from excess water existing in a gas diffusion layer or a separator channel of the fuel cell because of non exhaustion can be reduced.
      SOLUTION: In the metal separator for the fuel cell, the metal separator 100 consisting of metal thin films of a first metal thin film 101 and a second metal thin film 102 is formed by stamping molding. The first metal thin film 101 and the second metal thin film 102 are deformed, a plurality of cooling flow passages 103 are formed inside the first metal thin film 101 and the second metal thin film 102, and at outside of the first metal thin film 101 and the second metal thin film 102 between the cooling flow passages 103, a first main flow passage 104 and a second main flow passage 105 of recessed shapes are respectively formed, and a first auxiliary flow passage 107 and a second auxiliary flow passage 108 are respectively formed at the bottom faces of the first main flow passage 104 and the second main flow passage 105.

      SOLUTION: The fuel cell stack is provided with a unit cell composed of a membrane electrode assembly, a gas diffusion layer which transfers reaction gas to an electrode of the membrane electrode assembly, a metal separator which is connected on an outer side of the gas diffusion layer and supports the membrane electrode assembly and a gasket which prevents reaction gas leakage and provided with a connecting plate on which there is formed a manifold through which the reaction gas and cooling water come in and out. The metal separator is composed of a plurality of separator manifolds formed on one side end part in a longitudinal direction corresponding to the above manifold and a concavo-convex structure having repetition of a concave part which recesses inside around a circumference and a convex part which extrudes outside, and the concavo-convex structure is laminated in a honeycomb structure where one separator is laminated with another separator.
