SOLUTION: This bush cutter 10 has such constitution that a driving shaft 12 is passed through a pipe-like operation rod 11 and the driving shaft is rotated by the engine 13 arranged at one end part of the operation rod so as to rotate a cutting blade installed at the other end part of the operation rod and is equipped with an exhaust muffler 51 through which the exhaust of the engine is passed. The operation rod is a double pipe in which an inner pipe 82 is passed in an outer pipe 81, the driving shaft is passed through the inner pipe, at least a part between the outer pipe and the inner pipe is used as an exhaust route 87 and the operation rod doubles as an exhaust route connected to the exhaust vent 51a of the exhaust muffler.
