    • PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in characteristics of a magnetic head, by providing the 2nd groove having a prescribed size at the side of a magnetic core and controlling the gap between a recording medium and the head at the outside of the groove. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 14, having e.g. 0.01-0.02mm. width are provided at the side of a magnetic core 12 from end to end in the lengthwise direction of a magnetic head. Thus, dust and magnetic powder entering opposing surface of a magnetic head medium near the magnetic core flow in the grooves 14 and most of them pass in the grooves 14 and are discharged at the outside of the head. A groove 15 is provided at the ouside of the grooves 14 and this groove 15 plays a role controlling a gap between the head and a tape as well as discharging the dust and magnetic powder as the grooves 14. Thus, the deterioration in the characteristics of the head due to elapse of time in using the magnetic head can hardly be caused. Thus, the deterioration in the characteristics of the magnetic head can be avoided.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress unnecessary parasitic vibrations by curving the center part of a metallic thin piece which supports an optical lens elastically and has spiral winds around an optical axis. CONSTITUTION:An optical lens is fitted to a ring 32 and between rings 32 and 31, three spring pieces 33 are provided spirally. Each spring piece 33 swells up at its center part to form a curved part 41 continuing smoothly from flat parts 42 at both ends. This curved part absorbs the energy of parasitic vibrations efficiently and new parasitic vibrations of high order are never entailed because of the smooth succession of the curved part 41 to both the ends.

    • PURPOSE:To compensate the recording and reproducing characteristic error in the inner peripheral side and the outer peripheral side by constituting the inner peripheral side of a thin film head which has a high S/N and is suitable for high-density recording and constituting the outer peripheral side of a ferrite head or metal in gap head (MIG). CONSTITUTION:Inner peripheral-side and outer peripheral-side heads 2 and 3 are attached to a carriage 20 through load arms 5 like a comb and are positioned to an objective track by an actuator 4 provided at the rear. Higher density recording is required and the recording and reproducing level is reduced according as going to the inner peripheral side, and the extent of floating is increased and the overwrite S/N characteristic is degraded according as going to the outer peripheral side of higher peripheral speed. Consequently, a thin film magnetic head which is suitable for high-density recording and has a high S/N is used as the inner peripheral-side magnetic head 2, and a ferrite head which is superior in write capability and has a nominal extent of floating smaller than that of the inner peripheral side is used as the outer peripheral-side magnetic head 3. Thus, recording and reproducing are satisfactorily performed on the inner peripheral side as well as the outer peripheral side.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head which is inexpensive and has a high efficiency, and to elevate its mechaical reliability, by providing a center track corresponding to signal track width, and a slide surface for generating the floating force, on a magnetic core and the opposed surface of a recording medium of a slider, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A core and slider assembly body 30 is formed by joining in one body slider chips 31a, 31b consisting of a ceramic material, through glass 34a, 34b, onto both sides of a core chip 32 consisting of Mn Zn ferrite which has been formed in one body by sticking a winding yoke 32a on which a winding window 39 has been formed, and an I core 32b by use of glass so as to form a recording and reproducing gap 33. Subsequently, slider slide surfaces 38a, 38b for generating the floating force are formed on the chips 31a, 31b of the op- posed surface side to a recording medium of the assembly body 30, and grooves 37a, 37b for balancing the floating force and returning force are formed between the chip 32 and the chips 31a, 31b. Also, a center track 38c corresponding to the signal track width is formed on the opposed surface side to the recording medium of the chip 32.
