    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an entrainment preventing device for a front tire of a vehicle which certainly prevents entrainment of an object under the front tires.
      SOLUTION: In the entrainment preventing device, a guard 7 for preventing the entrainment of the object 6 under the front tire 3 is arranged at the front position of the front tire 3. The lower part of the guard 7 is formed of a planar member bent forward at a predetermined tilting angle. The entrainment preventing device is attached to the lower surface side of a step 5 disposed on the front side of a front fender 4 via a hinge 8 so that it turns to the front tire side when the guard 7 contacts with the object. The guard 7 is provided with an elastic member 9 for holding it at a storage position along the lower surface of a step via the hinge 8, and a locking mechanism 10 for holding the guard at an operating position in front of the front tire against an energizing force of the elastic member is arranged.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select rational gear ratio responding to the distance to a vehicle driving ahead by installing a measuring apparatus to measure the distance to a vehicle driving ahead and a means to inhibit alteration of setting of the gear ratio in the case the output of the distance to the vehicle driving ahead detected by the measuring apparatus is shorter than a standardized value. SOLUTION: When the distance to a vehicle driving ahead becomes shorter than a standardized value and gets into a perilous region, a measuring apparatus 3 gives an alarming output. By taking the alarming output, setting alteration of the gear ratio to a computed ratio is inhibited even if a driver parts the foot from the accelerator pedal. When the distance to a vehicle driving ahead becomes long, a control circuit 1 judges whether the distance to the vehicle driving ahead detected by the measuring apparatus 3 becomes the standardized value or longer. In the case the distance is the standardized value or longer, the inhibition state is continued for a prescribed period (t) and after the prescribed period (t) sec., setting alteration of the gear ratio to the computed gear ratio is carried out. Consequently, acceleration which the driver intends to do is instantaneously carried out at the time when acceleration is again carried out.
