    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily reduce a stress corrosion crack potential in a comparatively short time by replacing a shroud module with one made of an excellent material with a shroud upper body integrated. SOLUTION: A nuclear reactor pressure vessel upper lid 22 and a steam drier 15 are removed from a nuclear reactor pressure vessel 1, a steam separator serving as a shroud head 16 is removed, and then, a fuel 10 is taken out. Subsequently, a dry tube LPRM detector assembly 25 is removed, a water-supply sparger 13 and a reactor spray system pipe 12 arranged above a reactor shroud 2 are cut so as to be removed. Then, an upper grid board 5 is removed, a shroud upper body is cut and removed, and preventive maintenance work inside the nuclear reactor pressure vessel 1 is carried out. Then, the shroud upper body is installed and the upper gird board is mounted. A new guide rod, a new water-supply sparger, a new reactor spray pipe are installed, a new dry tube LPRM detector assembly is arranged, the fuel 10 is charged, the steam separator serving as a shroud head 16 and the steam drier 15 are mounted, and finally, the reactor pressure vessel upper lid 22 is installed.
