In the secondary bobbin 2, a low-pressure side of the secondary coil is an injection side of the soft epoxy 17, and an inner diameter thereof has a gradient so as to have a difference in inner diameters such that the low pressure side of the secondary coil is larger and a high pressure side of the secondary coil is smaller, so that the wall thickness of the low-pressure side of the secondary coil of the secondary bobbin is made smaller, and that of the high pressure side is made larger. The soft epoxy 17 is provided with a recessed part 17' by pressure molding, and has Tg that satisfies a condition of [allowable stress of the secondary bobbin > generating stress at (-40 deg.C - glass transition temperature Tg of insulating resin)].

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an ignition device for an internal combustion engine without causing any fault even under a severe environment and the like, by setting to a specific value or more, the maximum energy determined by the primary inductance of an ignition coil the primary current and applied to a switching element when the primary current of the ignition coil is shut off. SOLUTION: Regarding Es/b maximum energy, in the case that only the primary side (pure inductance) of an ignition coil 3 is supposed, (1/2)×L1 ×I2 (mJ) is applied to a switching element 2 every ignition time (every time primary current is shut off). In the case that the whole ignition energy ignition misfired is applied to the switching element 2, the maximum energy becomes 1/3, and in a worst case, becomes 1/2, in comparison with a case that the pure inductance is supposed. Therefore, the Es/b maximum energy of the switching element 2 is set to about 200 mJ more, the primary inductance of the ignition coil 3 becomes about 8 mH or more when shut off current is set to about 10A, thus, most primary inductance of the ignition coil 3 whose present primary inductance is mainly 2-4 mH can be covered.

The side-core 18 containing the slits 18a1 prevent 1 turn short of magnetic flux, and obtain a predetermined secondary voltage equal to or more than the secondary voltage required by an engine.

The relationship between the current and the detected voltage is constant by make a setting so that the temperature factor of the forward voltage of the diodes is zero to the temperature factor of a load element for detecting the gate threshold voltage and the current of an N-MOS transistor 23, and the current detection without any temperature factor becomes possible. Because a current control circuit part consists of the self-separation type N-MOS transistor 23, it can be easily manufactured in the PNPN semi-conductor structure to constitute IGBT, and a highly reliable one-chip ignitor can be provided.

Since a distance between the secondary coil 4 and ground becomes large and the distribution capacity of the secondary coil becomes small, the loss of secondary voltage becomes small. A winding length can be made shorter and secondary coil resistance becomes small when the secondary coil 4 is arranged just outside the center core 7 compared with a case when the secondary coil 4 is arranged outside the center core 7 and the primary coil 2. Thus, secondary energy and the loss of discharge continuation time becomes small and the small and light ignition device for internal combustion engine with high output can be provided.
