    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device for an internal combustion engine, which has superior durability, such as heat-resistive impulse properties and insulating properties, and high reliability. SOLUTION: A center core 7, a low-pressure side core 18 or a high-pressure side core 9 is disposed inside a constituent member such as a primary bobbin 1, a secondary bobbin 3 or a case 5, or is housed in a pocket formed in the constituent member, or is covered with an elastic member, whereby the core is isolated from an insulating epoxy resin 6, and air is prevented from penetrating into a coil high-pressure part. Since no bubbles remain in the high-pressure part, and an internal crack caused by thermal shocks or the separation of the insulating epoxy resin 6 from the constituent member can be prevented, the heat-resistive impulse properties and insulating properties of a cylindrical ignition device can be enhanced.
