    • PURPOSE:To control the vibration of an information recording medium, and stably fetch an output by providing a rotatable second head which does not record/reproduce information on a front side in the rotating direction of a rotary head. CONSTITUTION:A second head 2 is arranged on electrostrictive elements 5a and 5b ahead of a rotary head 1. When a constant voltage is applied in the width direction of the elements 5a and 5b, the head is expanded/compressed in the longitudinal direction, when a potential on the external side of the elements 5a and 5b is zero and the voltage is applied from a power source 10 to the center part of the elements 5a and 5b, for example, the element 5a is compacted, and the element 5b is expanded to the contrary. Since the elements 5a and 5b are mutually bonded at the center part, the whole element 5 is displaced, and the second head 2 provided at the tip of the element 5 is displaced as shown in a figure. Since the displacement quantity of the element 5 can be controlled by the voltage, the head 2 can be displaced so as to slightly project to the external periphery of a drum 6. When the rotary head rushes or separates with respect to an information recording medium 7, the vibration of the medium 7 can be controlled by displacing the second head 2 and making contact with the medium 7.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce vibrations on stoppage by holding a magnetic field at the positions of 0.5-1.0 steps once and shifting the magnetic field to a position where a stepping motor is moved by one step after a fixed time passes when the stepping motor is moved by one step. CONSTITUTION:When coils 13, 14 are excited by a low-voltage power supply on the ON of transistors 5, 6 and a rotor stopping at a midpoint between the coils 13, 14 is moved up to a midpoint between coils 14, 15, the coil 14 is excited by a high-voltage power supply 1 by turning the transistor 5 OFF, transistors 6, 7 ON and a transistor 18 ON, and the coil 15 is excited at low voltage 2, thus shifting the position of a magnetic field to a point where nearer to the coil 14 than the midpoint between the coil 14 and the coil 15, then transferring the rotor to the position of the magnetic field. The coil 15 is excited by high voltage after a fixed time passes after the rotor passes through the point, and the position of the magnetic field is brought to the midpoint between the coils 14 and 15, thus reducing vibrations on stoppage.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device suitably used for high-speed accessing by reducing the size and the weight of a magnetic disk supporting mechanism. SOLUTION: One end of a supporting part 3 is held by a rotatable rigid arm part 4, and a pneumatic pressure adjusting means 7 formed by shaping the supporting part itself is provided in the opposing surface of a magnetic disk 1 near the free end of the supporting part. A magnetic head 2 is attached to a magnetic head attaching part 31 roughly perpendicular to the positive pressure generating part 71 of the pneumatic pressure adjusting means provided in the free end of the supporting part. The positive pressure generating part 71 is composed of a tapered part 711 and a flat part 712, an air spring is formed by its relative motion with a magnetic disk, and the magnetic head is caused to float by a floating amount matching ahead pressing load generated based on the rotational angle θ of the supporting part. By changing the rotational angle θ, an optional floating amount, or a contact surface pressure with the magnetic disk, is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To guide a medium with high accuracy over the entire circumference on guide drums by providing a driving element which generates the force to move the medium in the direction intersecting with the traveling direction of the medium while maintaining contact with the medium surface in a medium winding part of the drums. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 7 travels in the state of helically winding on the guide drums 1, 2. A driving element 6 disposed to be partly exposed on the tape-sliding surface of the stationary drum 2 is constituted by fixing an electrostrictive element 9 and an elastic body 8. The waveform fluctuations moving in an arrow C direction are generated in the elastic body 8 by impressing a high-frequency voltage from an electrostrictive element driving circuit 34 to the electrostrictive element 9 and shifting the phase of the impressed voltage according to the positions of the electrostrictive element 9. The tape 7 in contact with the elastic body 8 eventually receives the force from the driving element 6 in the direction D intersecting with an arrow direction E when the tape is transported in this direction E on the guide drums 1, 2. The tape is thus guided with the high accuracy along a lead 12.
