    • PURPOSE:To perform the automatic classification and registration of an image by unnecessitating the input of the code of a keyword, etc. CONSTITUTION:A feature amount calculation means 103 calculates the feature amount of the image inputted from an image input means 101. A feature amount reading means 106 reads the feature amount added to the image stored in file means 109. A similarity calculation means 104 calculates the similarity between the feature amount calculated by the feature amount calculation means 103 and the feature amount read by the feature amount reading means 106. A maximum similarity decision means 105 determines one having the maximum numerical value out of sets of similarity calculated by the similarity calculation means 104 and decides the classification item to which the image corresponding to the determined similarity belongs as the classification item of the inputted image. An image registration means 107 registers the inputted image in a file means 109 so as to belong to the decided classification. A feature amount registration means 108 adds the calculated feature amount to the image registered in the file means 109.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce and display a character image of KANJI(Chinese character), etc., with high picture quality by decreasing the number of close horizontal lines and reducing the image by constitution which uses a table, etc. CONSTITUTION:Images 102 and 103 of an image 101 are inputted by a means which inputs eight dots in four rows and two columns of image data. Then, table means 106 and 107 output one black dot when one-three dots of the four dots are black, no black dot when there is no black dot, and two black dots when the four dots are black. Further, two dots 108 and 109 are outputted for a four-dot input 102. Namely, when there are white and black dots among the four dots, the both are outputted, so the number of the horizontal lines decreases, but they can be discriminated. When the dots are all black, the dots constitute a vertical line and a white dot is mixed unless the four dots are all black, so they can be discriminated. Lastly, two two-dot outputs 108 and 109 as reduction process results are 0Red and the OR output is generated.

    • PURPOSE:To extremely accurately sample a video signal by obtaining the synchronization of the video signal and a sampling clock signal and correcting the phase difference between a horizontal synchronizing signal and the video signal when the video signal to be inputted is sampled. CONSTITUTION:While a two-phase sampling clock signal 103 is generated in the internal part, the sampling clock signal 103 is switch-synchronized with a supplied horizontal synchronizing signal 101 as a reference, and further, the phase difference between a video signal 102 and the horizontal synchronizing signal 101 is detected with the synchronized sampling clock signal as the reference, a delay is added either to the horizontal synchronizing signal 101 or to the video signal 102, and the synchronization is executed. Thus, since the three signals, which are the sampling clock signal, the horizontal synchronizing signal, and the video signal, are completely synchronized, the supplied video signal 102 can be sampled accurately without generating any dot omission and dot formation even when the phase difference exists between the video signal 102 and the horizontal synchronizing signal 101, and further, a period is long, in which the video signal 102 is not supplied.

    • PURPOSE: To perform the modification processing of modification areas different by sizes by assigning addresses of a storage circuit, where attribute information for individual modification area are stored, to respective modification areas and storing attribute information and reading out attribute information from the storage circuit in a certain relation to a picture signal to give a signal for deciding the modification area. CONSTITUTION: An attribute information conversion part 3 converts attribute information for individual specific picture elements to that for individual modification areas by data in a modification area parameter storage part 1 and sends these converted information to the storage circuit, and addresses from an address generation part 2 and attribute information from the conversion part 3 are inputted to the storage circuit, and attribute information is stored for each modification area. A synthesis circuit 7 reads out attribute information for each modification area stored in the storage circuit synchronously with the picture signal and makes the read attribute information into a signal synthesized with the picture signal or into a synthesis control signal for synthesis of the picture signal and a synthesized signal supplied from another circuit, thus performing the synthesis processing. Thus, the size of a modification area is previously set to perform the modification processing of the modification area of any size.
