摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily expand and vary the system scale of the storage system of a large-scale computer and to enable maintenance by the degeneration of the system and hot-line insertion and extraction. SOLUTION: Host adapters (host-side interface) 1 connected to a host CPU, disk adapters (storage-device side interface) 2 connected to an array disk 5, a cache memory 3 for temporary storage that those adapters share are fitted in a free insertion/extraction state onto a common bus 4 that those adapters 1 and 2 and cache memory 3 share. To expand the scale, adapters 1 and 2 and cache memories 3 as many as required are only added. The adapters 1 and 2, cache memory 3, and common bus 4 are doubled to enable degenerative operation in case of a fault and the coupling parts of the adapters 1 and 2, cache memory 1, and common bus 4 can be inserted and extracted in a hot-line state to enable maintenance inspection component replacement without stopping the system.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a color picture processing unit with a high coding efficiency to a document in which monochroic color is eminent and color is not important by applying efficient storage to various kinds of document picture, especially a picture in which color and monochroic color exist in mixture. CONSTITUTION:A color scanner 100 reads a document color picture, extracts the picture as an RGB multi-value digital data and only a luminance data of a picture is outputted to a data input section 200 as brightness information. The input section 200 binarizes the data and stores the result tentatively in frame memories 310-340. The stored data is converted into a mode suitable for the input of a display section 500 and displayed by the recording form mode designated by an input mode designation section 150 at a data conversion section 400. Thus, the binary data in the memories 310-340 is coded and stored by a data storage section 600. Thus, the color and monochroic picture are stored efficiently and high coding efficiency picture processing is attained.

A selector 2b in an output part 2 is operated through a character area deciding signal 6, and in the case of the character area, a character binarizing signal 5a is outputted after picture element unit noise processing. In the case of the non-character area, white data are outputted as a character binarizing signal 5b after noise processing. Consequently, comparatively large noise similar to the size of each character size can be surely removed.

Further the inputted pictures 32 and 33 are coupled to a single picture on the picture storing means. Thus by using the picture input means having the smaller input screen than the size of the original picture, the picture can be inputted.

Retrieval is performed based on individual voice and music information itself or its attendant character information or the like. Thus, the time required for user's acquisition of objective voice and music information is shortened.

In this case, by the operation of the keyboard 7, the voice data corresponding to a display image is read out of the optical disk 6 and by a loudspeaker 12, a comment corresponding to an image is brought to voice output.

In order to correct the overrun when continuous page turning is stopped, the necessary number of pages are rewinded and displayed. A selector 8 is prepared in the reading control part of the picture 4-7, so that the picture memories 4-7 of any number in values calculated by the ring counter 11 and the substrater 15, are selected. Thus, evenwhen the pages are turned over at high speed, the title device can flexibly respond to the occurrence of the displayed picture overrun due to the time lag between the cognitive time and reaction time of the operator.
