    • PURPOSE:To reduce the deflection of work rolls in the horizontal direction end to enable high-rigidity support against horizontal bend by providing support rollers with which both sides of the body part of work rolls are respectively supported on the inlet and outlet side of rolled stock and position adjusting devices with which the offset quantity of work rolls can be adjusted. CONSTITUTION:The work rolls 1 are made to be arbitrarily movable in the pass direction and both sides of the body part of roll in the area outside the max. width of the rolled stock 11 on both of the inlet and outlet side of the rolled stock of the work rolls 1 are supported by arranging the support rollers 14. Then, by making the offset quantity of the work rolls 1 adjustable by providing the position adjusting devices 5 on those support rollers 4, the work rolls are situated in a dynamically balanced position due to rolling load, driving tangent force and the difference of tension in the back and forth direction, etc. Further, the high-rigidity support against the horizontal bend of the work rolls 1 is made possible and disturbance load is prevented and rolling with which the shape of the rolled stock 11 is stabilized can be performed by arranging the bearing boxes 8 of the work rolls 1 with clearance in the horizontal direction with adjacent members.

    • PURPOSE:To surely position a chock built-in roll to a roll supporting base by arranging a pair of chock supporting members on a chock attaching and detaching device and extending this supporting member in the roll axial direction upto the chock of the roll both ends. CONSTITUTION:A pair of chock supporting members 5 are provided on a roll supporting base 4 and extended for long in the roll axial direction upto the chock of the roll both ends. The member 5 is made so that the positions in the height direction, the right and left directions become the same as those of the truck rail 12 provided on a roll changing truck 11 and a wheel 7 and hook 15 are provided on the chock 2. A chock built-in roll 1 is placed on the truck 11 in this state, passed through the above of the chock supporting member 5 by advancing a push puller 13 and hooks 14, 15 are linked each other. The chock built-in roll 1 is stopped at the prescribed position of the above of the roll supporting base by retreating the push puller 13. The linking of both hooks 14, 15 are released, the chock built-in roll is placed on the roll supporting base 4 by ascending a lift device 6 and the roll 1 and chock 2 are separated.

In case of attaching and detaching the chock from the roll a chock 15 is supported with frame 19 by jack 20 by stroking cylinder and by moving to the lower side of the chock 15 the frame 22 to support air bearing 21 on its upper part. The chock 15 is attached and detached from the roll by moving ring 16.

    • PURPOSE:To enable various rearranging patterns by providing respectively rails to be exclusively used to work rolls and intermediate rolls to assure space and providing a moving machanism to be commonly used. CONSTITUTION:Rolls 6, 7 are removed by a push puller 13 in the case of rearranging upper and lower work rolls 6, 7. The position of a side shifting table is then side-shifted. The engagement between the push puller 13 and upper and lower intermediate rolls 5, 8 is released, and the puller 13 is inserted into a rolling mill 1 by means of cylinders 14, 15. The puller 13 can force the fresh upper and lower work rolls 6, 7 into the mill 1 without contact with the rolls 5, 8. An oil pressure is finally applied on the hook cylinder to remove an upper work roll hook 16 and a lower work roll hook 17 from the roll 6 and the roll 7 respectively and the cylinders 14, 15 are contracted to return the puller 13 to the home position. The roll rearrangement is thus completed.

    • PURPOSE:To maintain a rolled strip at high temp. and to reduce the thermal energy used in an annealing furnace by mounting wipers to the inlet side and outlet side of a rolling mill in the rear part of tandem mills, and inhibiting the splashing of coolant upon the strip. CONSTITUTION:In a suitable number of rolling mills in the rear part of tandem mills, wipers 19, 20, 21, 22 are disposed on the inlet and outlet sides on the outside circumferences of work rolls 30 in such a way that their leading ends contact with the rolls 30 slidably in the positions apart from a strip 14. An air wiper 28 is installed to the guide 17 of the wiper 21 on the upper side out of these, to jet air onto the strip 14. Then, despite the splashing of a coolant on the work rolls 30, water is shut off with the wipers 19-22 as against the strip 14 located between the wipers 19-22, and the water stuck to the roll 30 surfaces is wiped off as well. Hence, the strip 14 out from the rolling mills maintain a high temp. state. This heat is utilized for part of the thermal energy for annealing.
