SOLUTION: When super-resolution processing becomes difficult because a frame identical to a display image frame is output continuously during pause and play of a video image in the high resolution processing using a plurality of image frames, high resolution processing is attained by changing the selection of a frame to be referred for the display image frame and predicting an image frame in the future thus obtaining a high resolution video image. A high resolution video image is also obtained by referring to a frame in the past during pause.
