    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system capable of performing communication between two terminals via an IP transfer network that encapsulates and transfers an IP packet, and capable of configuring a large-scale public IP telephone switching network by specifying the IP address of a server that controls to connect communication using a telephone number of a destination terminal.SOLUTION: The IP communication network comprises logical terminals, and a terminal T1 and a terminal T2 are connected to a logical terminal L1 and a logical terminal L2, respectively. A dedicated virtual channel is determined between the logical terminals L1 and L2 based on a telephone number of the terminal T2 that is transmitted from the terminal T1 to the IP network. IP packets are transmitted and received between the terminal T1 and the terminal T2 via the dedicated virtual channel. From the terminal T1 or the terminal T2, a release of telephone communication is transmitted to delete the dedicated virtual channel. Further, based on the telephone number, a telephone number server specifies the server IP address that manages communication of a destination terminal, and a server that manages communication of a source-side terminal and a server that manages communication of a destination-side terminal perform communication connection control between the source-side terminal and the destination-side terminal.
