CONSTITUTION:This device has the support rolls 5 with which the horizontal forces that act on the work rolls 1 are supported, supporting bearings 6 which are zigzag arranged in the axial direction and with which the support rolls are supported and supporting frames 7 with which these supporting bearings are supported and are made into such a structure as the supporting frames 7 are allowed to execute rectilinear motion with rectilinear driving devices 9 and rectilinear motion bearings 11 and turning movement with rotary fulcrums 10 and turning driving devices 12. In this way, in accordance with the variations in the diameters of the work rolls, support rolls and supporting bearings and variation in the amount of offset of the work roll, the supporting frames are moved so that the straight line which connects the axial center of the work roll and the axial center of the support roll is always passed through approximately the middle between the axial centers of the supporting bearings which are zigzag arranged.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the horizontal force acting on work rolls at the time of changing a rolling direction by shifting intermediate rolls without shifting the work rolls and changing the offset quantity between the work rolls and the intermediate rolls by the rolling direction. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate rolls 6, 7 are disposed between the work rolls 1, 2 and backup rolls 3, 4 at the time of rolling in a left direction in reversible type rolling. The rolls 6, 7 are movably constituted to act bending force on cylinders 18, 19 containing shift blocks 14, 15. Cylinders 16, 17 are contained the shift blocks 14, 15 provided to shaft parts 10. The cylinder 16 side is emerged and the cylinder 17 side is returned to shift the rolls 6, 7 toward the position of a broken line at the time of the ensuing rolling in the right direction. The horizontal force acting on the work rolls 1, 2 is decreased with the simple device by the above-mentioned mechanism.

    • PURPOSE:To cool and support belts which travel synchronously with an ingot and constitute a mold at an economical flow rate of fluid by making the static pressure for supporting said belts lower on the upstream side of the mold and making the flow rate of the cooling fluid larger on the upper stream side. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel 2 in a tundish 1 passes through a nozzle, and flows into a synchronizing type continuous casting machine constituted by an outer belt 3, an inner belt 4 and side blocks 14 where the steel forms a solidifies shell which is drawn out as an ingot 15. The belt 3 is engaged to the outside circumferences of guiding rollers 5, 6, 7, and the belt 4 engages with the outside circumference of guiding rollers 8, 9, 10. Hydrostatic bearings 13 are provided behind the respective rollers to support and cool the belts which receive the static pressure of the steel 2. In the mold, the static pressure of the molten steel is low and the surface temp. of the ingot is high on the upstream side, and the static pressure of the molten steel is high and the surface temp. of the ingot is low on the lower stream side; therefore, the bearings 13 are made into the construction wherein the flow rate of the cooling fluid is increased on the upstream side and the effect of supporting is high on the downstream side.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of belt shapes owing to middle elongation and to prolong the life of the belts in a continuous casting machine device by disposing guide blocks attachably and detachably on both sides of the guide members on the rear of endless belts. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal is introduce into a mold constituted of an inside belt 3, an outside belt 4, and side face guide plates 12, and cooling water is supplied through the supply ports 16 of the outer guide 14a and inner guide 14b to form high velocity cooling water films 20 through cooling water chambers 17 and cooling water outflow ports 18, thereby cooling the molten metal via the belts 3, 4 and making an ingot 11. Plural guide blocks 22 are fitted attachably and detachably to guide supporting devices 21 on both sides of the guides 14b so that the molten metal is cooled. Thereby, these are constituted to the same width as the guides 14a, and the degradation is shape owing to middle elongation is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To disconnect the contact between belts and guide members with a water film, cool an ingot via the belts and improve quality by supplying a coolant of the pressure equal to that of molten metal to between the belts opposing to each other with the ingot in-between and the guide members on the rear side thereof. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal 2 in a tundish 1 passes through a nozzle and is supported by the ingot guide devices constituted of inside, outside belts 3, 4, 5, 6. At this time, cooling water is supplied through the water feed ports 28 of the guide devices and enters cooling water chambers 30, from which it passes through water flow ports 29 out into plural recesses 27, after which it forms a high-speed cooling water film 26. The belt 5 is supported by the pressure of the cooling water equal to the static pressure of the meral 2, and an ingot 24 is cooled by the belt 5, by which the thickness of a solidified shell 25 is increased. This ingot is discharged to the outside of the machine. The same holds true of the outside belt 6 side, the inside belt 3 side and the outside belt 4 side.
