Then, after rotating the stopper ring 29a in the peripheral direction so that the end face of the inner pawl 29a is abutted on the end face of the outer pawl 30Ba, the split roller 27a is firmly fixed to the work-side roller sleeve 30 by rotating an outer cylinder 28ao to the inner cylinder 28ai of the extendable screw ring 28a and extending the length in the axial direction of an extendable screw ring 28a.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate damage due to external force that is caused for example at the time of breaking of a rolled stock during rolling, in a cooling device of a rolling roll and in a rolling mill equipped with such device, and to prevent leak of a coolant to obtain a sufficient cooling effect. CONSTITUTION:In a cooling device 10 installed on the exit side of a rolling roll 51, a coolant is jetted from a spray nozzle 2 provided in a frame 1 and recovered in the frame 1. The frame 1 is movable back and forth against the rolling roll 51 by means of an actuator 20; when a pressure dealing with an external force actuating on the frame 1 exceeds a set pressure of a relief valve 27 at such time as the breaking of a rolling stock, the relief valve 27 is released, a piston 15 is detached from the rolling roll 51 and the frame 1 is retreated from the rolling roll 51. In addition, a high pressure air is jetted from a slit 6 on the end face of the frame 1 to form a gas knife.

At the same time, both end roll diameter measuring devices 7a, 7b installed near both ends of the roll 1 measure the diameters of both ends of the roll. From the measurements of the sensors 2a-2e and the diameters of both ends of the roll as measured by the devices 7a, 7b, a roll profile computing device 9 computes a roll profile that is not affected by variations in the diameters of both ends of the roll.

Then the undercooling degree DELTAT=T1-T0. In the equation, T1: the theoretical solidified temp. decided from the metal composition, T0: the temp. actually starting the solidification.
