    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device, equipped with an image signal wire capable of reducing wiring resistance. SOLUTION: A lower-layer electrode film of the image signal wire is formed on a first insulation substrate of a back panel, with a thick film applied and embedded by printing method, in a groove formed by a sandblast method or the like. The lower electrode of an electron source is formed directly on the first insulation substrate, having a flat surface (principal surface) by connecting a part thereof to the image signal wire by a deposition method. The image signal wire is formed of a stacked film of two layers, comprising the lower-layer electrode film and an upper-layer electrode film of aluminum, covering the lower-layer electrode film, by overlapping at least a part of the lower-layer electrode film, facing the groove of the first insulation substrate and deposited up to the flat principal surface. A second insulation film 2 due to anodic oxidation is formed on the upper surface around a forming region of the electron source of the upper-layer electrode film, and a third insulation film due to anodic oxidation is formed similarly in the forming region of the electron source as a tunnel film.       SOLUTION: A scanning line lower electrode GL-L is formed on the main surface of a first insulating substrate SUB1 and a signal line electrode DL is arranged thereon. A thin film scanning line upper electrode GL-H is formed on a tunnel insulating film INS2. The width of a scanning line lower electrode GL-L is increased by forming an electron source EM on the scanning line lower electrode GL-L, or the resistance of the scanning line lower electrode GL-L is decreased by increasing the thickness by coating and baking of conductive particle kneaded paste, such as silver paste.
