    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-temperature film capacitor exhibiting high permittivity, high break strength and excellent mechanical strength.
      SOLUTION: This capacitor comprises a substrate layer, a first electrode layer disposed on the substrate layer, and a first dielectric layer disposed on the electrode layer. The dielectric layer comprises a polymeric material having an elongation ≤ about 5%. In another embodiment, the capacitor includes a substrate layer having cellulose triacetate, and the substrate layer has tensile strength ≥ about 300 psi. The first electrode layer is disposed on the substrate layer, and the first dielectric layer is disposed on the electrode layer. The dielectric layer has a polymer material having an elongation ≤ about 5%.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high energy density capacitor structure which integrates a predictive diagnosis mechanism and/or a high-speed protection mechanism with the inside thereof, and to provide a method of integrating one side or both sides of predictive diagnosis and high-speed protection with a high energy density capacitor without having a great effect on energy density or performance. SOLUTION: A smart capacitor (50) includes a main capacitor (30) having at least one intelligence mechanism (40, 42, 44) selected from a predictive diagnosis mechanism and a high-speed protection mechanism integrated with the inside of the main capacitor (30). Both the at least one intelligence mechanism (40, 42, 44) and the main capacitor (30) are configured to generate at least one type of output signal selected from long term induced failure mechanism signals and sudden capacitor failure condition signals in response to desired input signals.
