CONSTITUTION:When a motor control signal Ms to show the disk rotating stopping command is received and a motor driving circuit 14 stops and controls a spindle driving motor 13, the number of revolution of a disk 11 is gradually reduced and a seek signal generating circuit 26 generates the first step seek signal Ss. By the seek signal, a head shifting motor 24 shifts a head 21 onto the non-recorded zone OA approximate to a CSS zone SA. The shifted head 21 reduces the floating quantity based upon the reduction of the number of revolution of the disk 11 and approaches the disk surface greatly. At such a time, a dust 31 stuck to the head surface contacts with the non-recorded zone OA of the disk 11 and shifts, and the head 21 is cleaned. Thereafter, a seek signal generating circuit 26 generates the seek signal Ss of the second step and shifts the head 21 to the CSS zone SA.

    • PURPOSE:To load and unload safely a head slider and to improve the reliability of a magnetic disk device by using a simple pressure mechanism to give the temporary displacement to the head slider. CONSTITUTION:In an inactive mode of a magnetic disk device, a magnetic head slider 7 is carried by an actuator 12 and set on the home position 9 of a magnetic disk 10. A support spring 3 is set free since a projection 5 of the spring 4 has no contact with a pressure guide 6 provided at the side of the disk device. The slider 7 is separated from the disk 10 by the action of the spring 4. When the disk device starts its action, a carriage 3 moves toward an arrow head B and the slider 7 reaches the boundary between the position 9 and a track area 8. Then the projection 5 is pressed toward arrow heads C and C' by the guide 6. Thus the slider 7 moves close to the disk 10. Then the slider 7 is set on the area 8 in an action mode, and a gap is set automatically by a self-control function for floating amount of the slider 7.

If the disc 2 should be shifted to the stabilizing plate 3, switching pins 8 and 7 are taken out and in; and when the disc 2 is floated above the stabilizing plate 3 and is rotated, data is written onto or read from the disc 2 by a magnetic head 5. If the right recording face should be accessed after accessing the left recording face, pins 7 and 8 are taken out and in to shift the disc 2 to the stabilizing plate 4 by the pin 7, and data is written or read by a magnetic head 6.
