    • PURPOSE:To prevent a color shift by executing a quick readout of the maximum bit each which can be read out simultaneously from a buffer memory, and detecting a synchronizing signal, when the number of words in a frame becomes a value which is different from that which is transmitted. CONSTITUTION:A digital signal whose frame is constituted of a synchronizing signal, a sample number information and a variable length word is converted in a serial-parallel way by an S/P converter 18, and plural groups of (n)-bit parallel after conversion are written simultaneously and successively in a buffer memory 10. Plural groups each of (n)-bit parallel are read out, are returned to series of (n)-bit parallel by a selector 20, are inputted to a synchronizing signal detecting circuit 14 and a decoding circuit 12, and also the number of samples sent from the transmission side is detected by a sample number detecting circuit 16. In case when the number of decoding words has a difference between said number and sample number information, it is controlled so that the difference is compensated. Also, a synchronizing signal detecting circuit 48 is connected to the input side of the selector 20, too, and a frame synchronizing signal is detected for each plural groups of (n)-bit parallel.

When the difference is large, the difference among all fields is calculated at a coder and controller 6 and transmitted, and when the difference is zero or nearly zero, the difference is calculated at each other field, and the difference is transmitted at an interval of prescribed difference, and further, when the difference is a middle value, the difference is transmitted at every other field.

The counting circuit 16 inputs the counted value of the pulse signal of every block to a mode control circuit 17. The mode control circuit 17 actuates one of an encoder 18 for mode 1, encoder 19 for mode 2, and encoder 20 for mode 3 according to the counted value to select an encoding mode and a transmission line.
