    • PURPOSE:To eliminate deviation in the traffic characteristic of an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) frame by assigning input terminals to all output terminals without duplication and revising periodically the connection pattern. CONSTITUTION:The subject system is constituted of input terminals 1-N, a distribution switch network 10, a selection switch network 20, a pattern number generating circuit 30, a switch control circuit 40, output terminals 51-5N, and delay adjustment circuits 61-6N. When an ATM frame is simultaneously inputted from the plural input terminals 1-N, a connection pattern assigning each input terminal to all output terminals without duplication is generated and the connection pattern is revised periodically. The ATM frame is sent to the distribution switching network 10 controlled by the control circuit 40. Thus, the deviation in the traffic characteristic of the ATM frame is eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the burden loaded to the packet processing capacity and to improve the effective data transmitting speed by dividing the information field in one frame into sub-fields and detecting the error for respective sub-fields. CONSTITUTION:For a large quantity of information sent from a packet terminal to other packet terminal, concerning the contents of a sub-field SF divided and formed in the sequence, five '1' are continuous, and thereafter, one '0' is inserted. Thus, one information field I including all pieces of information to be sent can be formed. At the side where the frame is received, reversely, the inserted '0' is removed, the information field I is taken, the '0' inserted into the SF is removed, thereby, a sub-frame checking sequence SFCS is realized. By using the SFCS, the bit error of respective SF is detected for respective SF. Thus, by resending the error-detected sub-field only, the capacity of the effective packet transmission and the packet replacement can be enhanced.
