    • PURPOSE:To enable wide rotation of a decomp pin and to facilitate control of the starting, by a method wherein a weight lever, pivotally secured to a cam gear, is engaged with a decomp pin extended through the cam gear. CONSTITUTION:A decomp pin 9 is located in a manner to extend through a cam gear 6, and a weight lever 13 is pivotally secured to the gear 6 by means of a support shaft 14. A fork-shaped engaging part 11 is located to the outer end part of the decomp pin 9, and a pin 15 of a weight lever 13 is engaged therewith. A notche 12 is formed in the inner end of the decomp pin 9, and the inner end part is positioned to the engine compression stroke of a cam 4. In the stop or the low rotation region of an engine, the inner end part pushes up a tappet 8 to decompress an engine. When the number of revolutions is increased to higher than a given value, a decomp pin 9 is widely rotated through the centrifugal force of the weight lever 13 to effect release from decompression.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the mixing of the air and the fuel, by utilizing the suction, exhaust valves at the top of the cylinder to form a sub-combustion chamber at the position in a piston head coinciding with the main combustion chamber thereby producing a strong spiral flow and providing the function for directly injecting the spiral flow. CONSTITUTION:A main combustion chamber 7 comprising a tubular recess 6 is formed at the position facing with the valve head 5' of a piston head 3' while a tubular member 8 opening to the piston 3 side is projected at the tip of the valve head 5' thus to form a sub-combustion chamber 9. While a plurality of holes 10 are made circumferentially in the thick section 8' of the tubular member 8 and a groove 11 conductable to said hole 10 is formed around said recess 6. Consequently under compressing stroke the air in the cylinder 1 is compressed into the tubular member 8 then directed to the circumferential direction through the hole 10 and injected to produce the spiral flow. When the piston 3 rises to fit the recess 6 and the tubular member 8, the main and sub-combustion chambers 7, 9 are conducted to produce the highly compressed spiral flow resulting in the improvement of the mixing of the air and the fuel.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate starting of a diesel engine, by employing a hand cranking type starting means which is designed such that the reduction gear ratio of the starter and the crank shaft can be changed automatically depending on the level of the pressure in the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Crank shaft 2 supported by engine body 1 is coupled with a drive arm 5 by the intermediary of a coupling means 4 which is uncoupled when it is turned reversely. A control arm 8 having a handle 11 is coupled to a boss 6 which is fixed to the engine body 1. This arm 8 has two members 8a, 8b located on the opposite sides of a pin 10, and a link 9 is extended between the pins 10 and 12 fixed respectively to arms 8 and 5. Further, one end portion 24 of arm 8b is connected to one end portion 25 of arm 5 so as to increase the reduction gear ratio of crank shaft 2. With such an arrangement, the arms 8b, 9 and 5 are coupled together to lower the reduction gear ratio at the initial stage of rotating the handle.

    • PURPOSE:To improve durability and reliability of a device by constituting an ejector by arranging a secondary air introducing pipe coaxially in order from outside so as to introduce secondary air to a mixing cylinder from outside. CONSTITUTION:An ejector 12 to supply mixture to catalyst 18 by mixing exhaust gas with secondary air introduced from outside, is provided in a muffler body 2 connected to the exhaust side of an engine. A turing cylinder 13 introduces exhaust gas from the opening part 13a arranged by an offset to the shaft center, and turns this exhaust gas. A mixing cylinder 14 takes in the exhaust gas turned in the turning cylinder 13 and secondary air, and mixes these together, and supply it to the catalyst 18. A secondary air introducing pipe 5 is arranged coaxially in order from outside so as to introduce the secondary air to the mixing cylinder 14 from outside, and the ejector 12 is constituted. In this way, since a proper quantity of secondary air can be introduced efficiently by optimizing the ejector, the deterioration in engine output or excessive activation of catalytic reaction can be prevented.
