摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control manufacturing and feeding of fuels of different octane numbers by a reformer.SOLUTION: A fuel management system mounted on a vehicle is operative to feed individually or a mixture of grades of relatively low, intermediate, and high autoignition temperature fuels to an associated internal combustion engine. The system includes an on board separation unit (OBS unit) for receiving and separating intermediate autoignition temperature (IAT) fuel into low and high autoignition temperature fuels, LAT and HAT, respectively. The production rate of the LAT and HAT fuels by the OBS unit is controlled to substantially match the consumption requirements of the engine at any given time for the LAT and HAT fuels.

SOLUTION: The exhaust heat recovery device 25 includes a plurality of heat pipes 60, 61 having heat recovery sections 60a, 61a and heat exchangers 60b, 61b. Each heat pipe allows the heat recovery section to recover heat from exhaust gasses emitted from an internal combustion engine and allows the heat exchanger to transfer recovered heat to a heating object. The heat recovery section 60a of the first heat pipe 60 recovers heat from the exhaust gases at the exhaust emission control catalyst 20', disposed in an engine exhaust pipe, or at an area upstream of the same. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the separation performance of vehicle-mounted fuel separating equipment that uses a separating membrane. SOLUTION: Gasoline within a feedstock fuel tank 3 is separated by the separating equipment 10 provided with a separating membrane 1101 into a fuel with high octane number having higher octane number than that of a raw fuel and a fuel with low octane number having lower octane number than that of a raw fuel. The separating equipment includes a heat exchanger 120 for increasing raw fuel temperatures through heat-exchange between the raw fuel and the fuel with low octane number after separation, a circulating line 140 for recirculating the fuel with low octane number after separation as the raw fuel through the separating membrane and further increasing raw fuel temperatures, and a vapor-liquid separator for supplying a component with low octane number contained in the fuel after separation to a fuel with high octane number side of the separating membrane and increasing partial pressure of the component with low octane number. By operating one or more of these factors, the permeability of a component with high octane number of the separating membrane 1101 is increased compared with during non-operating, resulting in improving in the separation performance of the separating membrane.
