    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve capable of reducing a generation amount of particulate matter generated in burning of fuel.SOLUTION: A recession 33 is provided on an outer wall 303 of an injection nozzle 30 having a plurality of injection holes 31. An outside opening 313 of the injection hole 31 is formed on a bottom surface 331 of the recession 33. A side surface 332 of the recession 33 is formed to rise from the bottom surface 331. When fuel is injected by the fuel injection valve, a part of the injected fuel adheres to the vicinity of the outside opening 313 of the bottom surface 331. The adhering fuel moves along the bottom surface 331 and stays in an outer peripheral end 333 of the bottom surface 331. When the fuel injection valve performs next fuel injection, the fuel staying in the outer peripheral end 333 is blown off by the jet of the injected fuel, and is separated from the recession 33. Thus, an amount of the fuel adhering to the inside of the recession 33 is reduced. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce a generation amount of particle matter generated by burning of the adhering fuel.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve, the behavior of the movable core of which is stabilized to attain high injection performance.SOLUTION: The fuel injection valve comprises a body having an injection hole at the tip thereof, a needle 70 for controlling an opening/closing operation of the injection hole, and an electromagnetic actuator 80 for reciprocating the needle 70. The electromagnetic actuator 80 comprises a movable core 81, a coil 87, a fixed core 88, a first spring 91 for pressing the needle 70 to such a direction in which a valve is closed, and a second spring 92 for pressing the movable core 81 to such a direction in which the valve is opened. The base end-side end of the second spring 92 is supported on a seat part 85 being the bottom of a concave part 84 formed at the tip-side end of the movable core 81. The concave part 84 is formed into such a shape that a non-contact state is kept between a sidewall 86 of the concave part 84 and the side part 93 of the second spring 92 during the time in which an opening operation of the valve is being performed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure fuel pump not causing the enlargement of an electromagnetic drive part by reducing a force required by an elastic member for keeping a valve member separate from a valve seat. SOLUTION: When the valve member 41 is separated from a valve seat 32, the movement of the valve member 41 is restricted by abutting on the stopper 42. A cylindrical part 45 of the valve member 41 is closed by the stopper on an end at the opposite side of a bottom 44. Consequently, fuel of which the pressure rises in a pressurizing chamber 113 does not flow in the cylindrical part 45 when fuel is returned to a fuel chamber 16 from the pressurized chamber 113. A collision of fuel with the bottom 44 of the valve member 41 is thereby mitigated and the valve member 41 is not pushed in to a valve seat 32 side by the flow of fuel. As a result, a pressing force of a spring 56 pressing the valve member 41 to keep the valve member 41 separate form the valve seat 32 is reduced, and the enlargement of the spring 50 and the electromagnetic drive part 50 can be inhibited.
