A needle chamber 32 capable of communicating with a nozzle 242 is formed between a nozzle part 24 and a valve part 303. The needle chamber 32 communicates with the core chamber 34 via a throttle flow passage 28. When opening of the valve, if balance between acting force acting on the needle 30 in a valve closing direction and acting force acting on the needle 30 in a valve opening direction, which are caused by pressure of fuel, changes as compared with when closing of the valve, the needle chamber 32 and the core chamber 34 exchange fuel via the throttle flow passage 28. With this, the acting force acting on the needle 30 in the valve opening direction and the acting force acting on the needle 30 in the valve closing direction, which are caused by pressure of fuel, can be balanced in the same relationship either when closing of the valve or when opening of the valve.
