    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a diverging/merging section of a branch tunnel 3, which can be easily and safely constructed without excavation, while a lining body is newly constructed, and a construction method for the structure.
      SOLUTION: This structure of the diverging/merging section of the branch tunnel 3, which is constructed between two juxtaposed main-line tunnels 1 and 2, is characterized as follows: the branch tunnel 3 is constructed between the two main-line tunnels 1 and 2; earth retaining materials 7 and 8 are provided in an inserted manner in the upper and lower positions of the branch tunnel 3 from the first main-line tunnel 1 to be branched; leading ends of the earth retaining materials 7 and 8 are provided in an elongated state near the lining body of the second main-line tunnel 2 which is not to be branched; a diverging/merging section skeleton 16 made of reinforced concrete or steel-frame concrete is constructed on an inside surrounded by the upper and lower earth retaining materials 7 and 8 and the inside of the lining body of the first main-line tunnel 1; and a diverging/merging section space 17 is formed inside the skeleton 16.

      SOLUTION: The tunnel at the confluent/divergent section 3 at which a divergent tunnel 2 diverges from a main tunnel 1, has earth retaining members 6, 7 extending from the main tunnel 1 to be arranged on upper and lower portions of the divergent tunnel 2, first reinforcing members 10, 12, 14a for reinforcing a lining body of the main tunnel 1, second reinforcing members 13, 14b for reinforcing a lining body of the divergent tunnel 2, and third reinforcing members 11, 15 for supporting the earth retaining members 6, 7. Then concrete is poured onto the inside of an outer shell 70 of the confluent/divergent section 3 to embed the reinforcing members, and the tunnel skeleton 80 at the confluent/divergent section 3 is constructed, to thereby form a divergent space 100 inside the tunnel skeleton 80 at the confluent/divergent section 3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a diverging/merging section of a branch tunnel 2, which can be inexpensively, toughly and safely constructed in a short period of time by narrowing a range for regulating the traffic of an in-service road, corresponding to a cut-and-cover section, on the ground, and a construction method of the structure.
