    • PURPOSE:To prevent production of a burr, eliminate a remaining protrusion so as to reduce the size and weight by connecting a diffuser shell to a closure shell by means of electron beam welding. CONSTITUTION:A housing 1 is composed of a diffuser shell 2 and a closure shell 3, and the diffuser shell 2 is composed of a circular part 2a, central cylinder part 2b and inner cylinder part 2c. The central cylinder part 2b is provided with a caulking part 4 for fixing an ignition means and the inner cylinder part 2c accommodates a combustion means. The closure shell 3 is composed of an annular part 3a having a center hole 7 and a peripheral wall part 3b, and the peripheral wall part 3b is provided with a flange part 3c extending in the radial direction. A welded part 13 is formed in an outer peripheral part of the central cylinder part 2b and an outer peripheral edge part of the center hole 7; a welded part 14, at a tip part of the inner cylinder part 2c and in a region of the annular part 3a; and a welded part 15, at a peripheral edge part of the circular part 2a and a tip part of the peripheral wall part 3b. Since the welded parts 13, 14, 15 are electron beam welded, a remaining protrusion due to friction welding is not generated so as to miniaturize.

    • PURPOSE:To perform satisfactory caulking without causing cracks at caulked part and lengthen the life of electrodes by using material of small thermal diffusion and poor affinity with Al for two electrodes in an electro-caulking method. CONSTITUTION:A caulking pin 1 made of Al is held between upper and lower electrodes 21, 22 made of nickel and current is applied. The nickel electrodes have larger heat insulating effect to the caulking pin 1 made of Al compared with conventional copper electrode. Accordingly, the caulking pin 1 shows far better temperature distribution than the case where it is held by conventional copper electrodes. No crack is generated at the caulked part and pickup of Al is not generated in the nickel electrodes even in continuous caulking work.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately shear and remove annular inner burrs without damaging a pipe material by inserting a blade tool formed to segmental blades into a hole of the pipe material and applying the shearing load to divide the annular inner burrs and afterward, displacing one blade to repeat the shearing. CONSTITUTION:Blade face forming angles alpha (dividing angles alpha') of the segmental blades 20 and 20 are set larger than forming angles beta of sectorial burrs (b), namely, so as to exceed 90 deg. so that the remaining sectorial burrs (b) can be completely sheared and removed at the time of another shearing stage. The blade tool 10 is inserted into the pipe material P and the necessary shearing load is applied to its one end in the arrow direction in the diagram, by which the burrs are sheared and removed. The annular inner burrs B are abutted on the blade tip 12 of the segmental blade 20 and the local shearing stress is caused and further, the burrs B are completely divided at two places on the circumference by continuing the load. Afterward, the blade tool 10 is moved back till the position before the shearing and the pipe material P is displaced by 90 deg. and the remaining sectorial burrs (b) are also sheared by the segmental blade 20 by again applying the shearing load. In this way, the annular inner burrs B which are fragmented into four pieces and separated by the shearing of two times before and after are easily ejected from the pipe end.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent insulating oil from leaking to the side of vacuum atmosphere at high temperature, and further prevent the deterioration of workpiece quality by forming a seal member out of a seal section, and an elastic section to energize the seal member in a pressing direction when jointed. CONSTITUTION:A jointing member 4 made of a ceramic material for connecting an electron gun vessel 1 to a cathode support member 3, gives a temperature rise and expands due to the heating of a cathode. On the other hand, the vessel 1 and member 3 jointed to each other with the member 4 also give a temperature rise and expand. The elongation thereof, however, is larger than the case of the member 4, due to a difference in the coefficient of linear expansion. Thus, a gap t2 changes in an expansion direction. In this case, however, a seal member 12 fitted to a joint section acts to energize a seal section 12a via an elastic section 12b in a pressing direction, and the section 12a expands, following the change of the gap t2 thereby keeping sealing capability without any change. According to this construction, insulating oil is prevented from leaking to the side of vacuum atmosphere, and the deterioration of workpiece quality is prevented.
