    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion method of a plate group into a battery jar preventing the power collection bodies from abutting on the edges of the battery jar and easily and stably inserting the plate group therein even if a clearance between the plate group and the battery jar is small.
      SOLUTION: The plate group 5 is formed by stacking rectangular positive plates and negative plates via separators and joining the power collection bodies 8a and 8b to both sides of lead parts 7a and 7b, which are provided with the positive plates and the negative plates mutually projecting in the opposite side parts. When the plate group 5 is inserted in the rectangular parallelepiped battery jar 3, fold parts 24 are formed in end parts in the insertion end sides of the both side power collection bodies 8a and 8b and the plate group is inserted with their outer surfaces folded insides.
