    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly change the magnification of a multivalue image while holding its high quality. SOLUTION: In the case of changing the magnification of a multi-valued image, a binary image preparing part 31 prepares a binary image set up by using each density level as a threshold from the multi-valued image. The contour of the prepared binary image becomes an equal density line in the density gradient of the original multi-valued image. Therefore, an outline variable magnification part 32 extracts the outline vectors of each binary image and applied magnification change/smoothing to the vectors. Since the obtained outlines of respective binary images express equal density lines in the density gradient of the variable magnification multi-valued image, picture elements having the threshold used at the time of generating each binary image as density are written in the multi-valved image area corresponding to the black picture elements of each binary image. The writing processing is applied to all corresponding binary images in order from a binary image with low density up to a binary image with high density and a multi-valued image reproducing part 33 generates a multi- valued image. Processing for smoothing the density gradient of the obtained multi- valued image is executed and a variable magnification multi-valued image is obtained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare blurred images at a high speed in the case of preparing the blurred images of a large blur amount by performing a blurring processing by reduced images obtained by reducing the number pixels of input image and turning the blurred reduced images to an original number of pixels. SOLUTION: Images are inputted in an image input process P0, a reduction rate is obtained from a blur amount inputted in a blur amount input process P1 and the blur amount is decided based on the blur amount from the input process P1 and the reduction rate from a reduction rate decision process P2 in a reduced image blur amount decision process P. Then, the input images are reduced based on the reduction rate decided in the image reduction rate decision process P2 in an image reduction process P4 and the reduced blurred images are prepared in a reduced image blurring process P5 from the reduced images reduced in the image reduction process P4 by the reduced image blur amount. Then, the reduced blurred images prepared in the reduced image blurring process P5 are magnified to the same size as the input images in an image magnification process P6 and magnified blurred images are outputted.
