    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water- and oil-repellent composition which can impart water and oil repellency to an article even if processed at a low temperature and can apply a water- and oil-repellent treatment providing a soft feeling.SOLUTION: There is provided a water- and oil-repellent composition which essentially contains a copolymer containing a polymerization unit of the following monomer (a) and a polymerization unit of the following monomer (b). Monomer (a): a monomer having a polyfluoroalkyl group in which a fine crystal derived from a polyfluoroalkyl group of a homopolymer of the monomer has no melting point or has a melting point of 50°C or less, Monomer (b): a monomer having an organic group other than the polyfluoroalkyl group in which a fine crystal derived from an organic group of a homopolymer has a melting point of 30°C or more.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water and oil repellent composition which can impart excellent water and oil repellency to an object, even if it is processed at a low temperature, and which can achieve a water and oil repellent treatment providing a soft hand.SOLUTION: The water and oil repellent composition includes as essential components a copolymer comprising a polymerization unit of the following monomers (a) and a polymerization unit of the following monomers (b). The monomer (a) includes a polyfluoroalkyl group, wherein the monomer including the polyfluoroalkyl group has no melting point for a fine crystal derived from the polyfluoroalkyl group of the homopolymer of the monomer, or has a melting point that is ≤50°C. The monomer (b) has an organic group other than the polyfluoroalkyl group, wherein the monomer having an organic group other than the polyfluoroalkyl group has a melting point that is higher than 30°C or higher for a fine crystal derived from the organic group of the homopolymer.
