    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a regeneration loss of a motor in a downward slope section.SOLUTION: When identifying existence of a downward slope section ahead of a traveling direction of a vehicle with a driving support device requiring a braking operation to halt the vehicle with the driving support device at a stopping position, the driving support device determines whether or not a regeneration loss of a motor occurs in a section from a current position of the vehicle with the driving support device to the stopping position by the same braking operation as performed while traveling in a flat section. If the regeneration loss of the motor is determined to occur, the driving support device guides a driver so that the driver starts the breaking operation short of an operation starting position of the braking operation while traveling in the flat section.
