    • The invention provides a head protection air bag. The head protection air bag (20) joints the cylinder woven air bag sections (30, 40) with the sewed air bag section (50); the jointing edges (37, 47) of the cylinder woven air bag sections consist of band shaped inside car sewing edge sections (38, 48) and outside car sewing edge sections (39, 49) separated in the inside and outside car direction from top edge to bottom edge; the inside car and outside car jointing edge (56, 57) of the air bag section (50) are jointed using longitudinal sewing sections (63, 64, 65, 66) and inside car and outside car sewing edge section (38, 48, 39, 49) relative to the cylinder woven air bag sections. And, by arranging the transversal sewing sections (71, 72, 73, 74) extending from the separating sewing section (54) of the cylinder woven air bag sections sewed along approximately back and forth direction, the air connecting section 53 is jointed with the air inlet sections (31, 41) of the cylinder woven air bag sections to form the air bag (20).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for protecting the head which enables a decrease in the amount used of a base cloth and effective utilization of the base cloth for the air bag in the process of forming the air bag. SOLUTION: The air bag device for protecting the head M is provided with the air bag 11 folded and housed at the upper end of a window W inside of a vehicle V. The air bag 11 is provided with an air bag body 12 having an inflation covering part 15 and a supply route part 19 for gas and a tension cloth 29 provided separately from the air bag body 12, projecting along the supply route part 19 for the gas. One end of the cloth 29 is combined with the vicinity of an end part of the inflation shielding part 15 on a formation side of the supply route part 19 for the gas and the other end of it is fixed to the upper end part of the vehicle V, thus generating tension at the inflation shielding part 15 in front and in the rear direction of the vehicle when the air bag 11 is developed and inflated. The supply route part 19 for the gas and the tension cloth 29 are integrally bundled and housed when the air bag 11 is folded.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag apparatus which can favorably perform the development-expansion of an airbag housed in a ceiling section. SOLUTION: The attaching of an airbag 5 which is made long-sized by being folded to the inner panel 20 under a state in which a tension toward the outside of both end sections in the longitudinal direction is applied is achieved in such a manner that a fastener 29 is fixed to the inner panel 20 under a state in which a connecting section 28 is expanded and extended to the outside of both end sections in the longitudinal direction of the airbag 5 while the airbag 5 is being brought into contact with the inner panel 20. Also, the displacement of the airbag 5 in the turning direction with an attaching tool 16 as the pivot when the airbag 5 is develop-expanded is suppressed by the tension which is applied to the outside of both end sections in the longitudinal direction to the airbag 5. Thus, the performance of the develop-expansion of the airbag 5 by a locus which is away from an ideal locus is suppressed, and therefore, the poor performance of the develop-expansion is suppressed. SOLUTION: The airbag 19 of the head protection airbag device M1 is stored on an upper edge side of a window, and is developed and expanded so as to cover the window by pushing to open an airbag cover 8. The airbag 19 is provided with a shielding body part 35 for covering the vehicle inner side I of the window and a pillar part CP, and an upper edge side bag part 39 disposed in the vicinity of the upper end 7a of the pillar garnish. The upper edge side bag part 39 is disposed on an upstream side of gas for expansion flowing into the airbag from a pillar shielding part 36 of the shielding body part 35, and is formed so as to expand while blocking a part between the upper end 7a of the pillar garnish 7, and a body 1 side.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head protective airbag that can be easily manufactured even if a constitution of arranging an inner tube within a connecting port part of an airbag main body is employed. SOLUTION: This head protective airbag 19 comprises an airbag main body 20 and an inner tube 86. The airbag main body comprises a developing expansion part 21 developed and expanded to cover the segment of a side window facing to the compartment of a vehicle, and a cylindrical connecting port 28 connected to an inflator in such a manner as that expansion gas can be flowed to the developing expansion part. The inner tube 86 is arranged between the inner peripheral surface of the connecting port and the outer peripheral surface of the inflator to guide the expansion gas to the developing expansion part. The part of the airbag main body near the connecting port 28 is constituted of a sewn bag part 50. The inner tube 86 is arranged between a seat 51 at the compartment and a seat 52 facing to the outside part of the vehicle when the sewn bag is formed, sewn together when a partitioning sawing part 54 positioned at the outer peripheral edge of the connecting port is sewn, and fixed to and arranged at the connecting port 28.
