摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protector capable of securing a driver's view field of even after a spring-up mechanism is actuated and of protecting the pedestrian smoothly with a hood panel sprung up. SOLUTION: The pedestrian protector is equipped with the hood panel 8 made by sheeting process and installed as covering the over-part of an engine room 6 arranged at the front extremity of the vehicle body and a spring-up mechanism 20 to move the hood panel 8 upward when the vehicle touching the pedestrian is sensed so that the hood panel 8 is put in plastic deformation as recessing downward at the time of interfering with the pedestrian in order to absorb the kinetic energy of the pedestrian. Being equipped with heaving parts 21 at the tail 8a of the hood panel 8 and around the center 8b about the fore-and-aft direction, the spring-up mechanism 20 at being actuated can spring up the hood panel 8. 摘要： The head-protecting airbag device (M1) includes an airbag (12) provided with a gas admissive portion (13) and a non-admissive portion (23). The gas admissive portion (13) includes a gas feed passage (14) for feeding inflation gas G toward both front and rearwards of the vehicle, and a plurality of vertical chambers (17) juxtaposed along front-rear direction of the vehicle. Each of the vertical chambers (17) includes a communication port at its upper end for communicating with the gas feed passage (14). The substantial lengths of a vehicle's outer wall (13b) and an inner wall (13a) of the airbag (12) are differentiated from each other by a belt (31) in the periphery (19) of the communication port (18). Thus the periphery (19) of the communication port (18) guides inflation gas (G) obliquely down and toward the vehicle's exterior (O) when inflation gas (G) flows into the vertical chamber (17) via the communication port. The head-protecting airbag device (M1) is made compact and improves workability in the mounting work on the vehicle while ensuring downward deployment of the airbag (12) along the window (W).

The air bag cover 30 is movably assembled to the case 13 in a manner to be capable of absorbing an assembly error between the air bag cover and an interior finish member 10b situated at the periphery.
