Then, an extension 77 of a pad retainer 70 penetrates a through-hole 91 of the pedal pad 34 with a locking claw 78 with an elasticity of the pedal pad 34 (i.e., with restoring forces of an upper cover 81 and a lower cover 82). Next, the assembly operator ceases warping of the first side wall 83 by detaching his/her fingers, as shown in Fig.6(e). Then, the locking claw 78 of the pad retainer 70 is inlaid into an engaging concave portion 92 of the pedal pad 34 and installation of the pedal pad 34 is completed.
