    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small reduction gear securing a great reduction ratio while allowing an easy change of reduction ratios.
      SOLUTION: The reduction gear comprises a rotatable carrier 29, a ring gear 33 rotatably fitted to an eccentric supporting hole 29b of the carrier 29, and first and second sun gears 34, 35 having first and second external teeth 34a, 35a meshing with first and second internal teeth 33a, 33b of the ring gear 33, respectively. The rotation of the carrier 29 is reduced and output as the relative rotation of the first and second sun gears 34, 35 to secure a great reduction ratio in spite of small construction with a less number of components. The reduction ratio can be changed with such a slight design change that the tooth number of the external teeth 34a, 35b of one of the first and second sun gears 34, 35 is only changed, thus improving the versatility.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the fall-off of a lock nut which holds a thrust supporting flange of an expansion actuator on a housing without the need for a special locking means. SOLUTION: A ring gear 63 of a planetary gear type reduction gear 37 is screwed to the inner peripheral face of a first housing 31 through its opening, and the thrust supporting flange 74 of a feed screw mechanism 39 is held by the lock nut 78 which is screwed to the inner peripheral face of the second housing 32 through its opening. When the openings of the first and second housings 31, 32 are joined to each other in the axial direction, the lock nut 78 and the ring gear 63 are opposed to each other via a minute clearance α in the axial direction. So, even when one member out of the lock nut 78 and the ring gear 63 being screwed is loosened, the movement of one member is prevented by the other member. This surely prevents the fall-off of the lock nut 78 and the ring gear 63 from the first and the second housings 31, 32 without the need for using a special locking means such as a circlip.
