    • PURPOSE:To regenerate a grindstone and prevent formation of defects by converting the acoustic emission generated during grinding to an electric signal and branching said signal and detection processing each signal and generating an alarm when the ratio between the signals which is over a specific value continues for a certain time. CONSTITUTION:The acoustic emission AE generated during grinding work is converted into an electric signal by a sensor 5 and amplified by an amplifier 6 and branched to two signals A and B. Said signals A is allowed to pass through a band-pass filter 7 and detected by a detector 8, and the signal B is allowed to pass through a band-pass filter 9 to remove mechanical and electrical noises and detected by a detector 10. The ratio between the both A/B is obtained by a divider 11, and the values larger than the threshold value predetermined e.g., larger than 1.0V are detected by an amplitude discriminator 12, and the alarm for grinding burn is generated according to the detection signal. Thus, the grinding burn which can not be permitted is prevented beforehand.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide motion error measuring method and device of a machine tool, which highly accurately measures a turning motion error by turning shafts B and C without requiring a correction. SOLUTION: In this measuring method, the motion error of the machine tool provided with: machining table 3 relatively moving in X, Y and Z-axis directions and relatively turning around the turning shaft B and the turning shaft C; and tool head 2 is measured by using a double ball bar 4. A holding part 6 of one ball of the double ball bar 4 is fixed to the machining table 3 so that a center of the ball 41 is located on an intersection of the turning shafts B and C, a holding part 5 of the other ball 40 is mounted and fixed to the tool head 2, and the double ball bar 4 is positioned to have a reference length fixed in advance. The tool head 2 is fed and moved along a circular feed passage P 1 having the reference length of the double ball bar 4 as a radius in a ZX plane. Based on a detection result of a change of the length of the double ball bar 4 for the time, an offset error of the turning shaft B is determined together with the motion error in the ZX plane. CONSTITUTION:When a drill 1 is overloaded during cutting due to plugging of chips or the like and there is a fear of break of the drill 1, a torque limiter 3 repeats joining and disjoining movements and produces elastic waves including a high level of supersonic waves. The elastic waves pass through a tooling 4, bearing 7 and are transmitted to a main shaft head 6, and then detected by a detection part 12. However, a noise of the elastic waves detected by the detection part 12, after being excluded by means of a bypass filter 13, is amplified by means of an amplifier 14 and demodulated by a detector 15. This output is compared with a set value by means of an amplitude selector 16 and in case it exceeds the set value, a signal generator 17 gives an alarm.
