    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for producing a copper powder. SOLUTION: The system and the method for producing a metal powder product using conventional electrolytic collection chemistry (i.e. oxygen evolution at an anode) in a flow-through electrolytic collection cell are provided. The system and the method enable the production of high-quality metal powders (including copper powder) from metal-containing solutions using a conventional electrolytic collection process and/or a direct electrolytic collection process. Possible substances of a flow-through anode are a metal, a metal wool, a metal fabric, other suitable conductive nonmetallic materials (e.g., carbon materials), an expanded porous metal substance, a metal mesh, an expanded metal mesh, a corrugated metal mesh, various metal strips, various metal wires or rods, a woven wire cloth, a perforated metal sheet or combinations thereof.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new electrowinning system that enables significant enhancement in electrowinning efficiency, energy consumption reduction and reduction of acid mist generation. SOLUTION: A copper electrowinning apparatus 200 employs the ferrous/ferric anode reaction at a total cell voltage of less than about 1.5 V and at current densities of greater than about 26 A per ft 2 (about 280 A/m 2 ) by using a flow-through anode 23, enables the efficient and cost-effective operation and reduces acid mist generation. The use of such an electrowinning system permits the use of low ferrous iron concentrations in an electrolyte and optimized electrolyte flow as compared to prior-art systems while producing high quality, commercially saleable products.
