PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide generally a process for recovering copper and/or other metal values from a metal-bearing ore, concentrate, or other metal-bearing material using pressurized leaching and direct electrowinning. SOLUTION: More particularly, the present invention relates to a substantially acid-autogenous process for recovering the copper from chalcopyrite-containing ore using the pressurized leaching and directwinning in combination with leaching, solvent/solution extraction and electrowinning operation.
