    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost and increase the yield while heightening the safety and operation efficiency of the cultivation of laver compared to those of the conventional one.
      SOLUTION: A growing material on which spores of the edible laver are arranged is detachably fixed to a base stand having weight. The laver preferentially grows on the growing material because the spores of the edible laver are arranged on the growing material to prevent the growth of seaweeds growing in the same low-tide zone as the laver and having a low commercial value. In one embodiment, the upper surface of the growing material is formed into a not-uneven surface (a smooth surface or a rough surface), and is arranged on the base stand so as to be horizontal to make the harvesting operation easy. The reason for horizontally arranging the upper surface is for artificially creating a growing condition similar to the natural environment by paying attention to the characteristics of the laver easily growing at the low-tide zone (a splash zone) and by arranging the growing material on the shore line facilitating the operation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically release a crane hook form a work object installed underwater by hanging work, without using an electric or hydraulic apparatus.
      SOLUTION: This underwater coupler for hanging work is composed of a coupler body 11 engaged with a crane hook 1, and a rotating member 21 provided with a coupler hook 22 engaged with a buried anchor 6. The rotating member 21 is rotatably fixed into the vicinity of the lower end part of the coupler body 11 through a shaft member 31 almost perpendicular to a hanging direction, while a float connecting member 24 is rotatably disposed at the rotating member 21 through a shaft member 28 almost perpendicular to the hanging direction. The positions of the float connecting member 24 and a coupler hook tip part 22F are set so that the tip part of the coupler hook 22 rotated following the rotating member 21 is detached from an engaging hole of the buried anchor 6 when upward tensile force works on the float connecting member 24.
